Actually, I don't really understand the point of doing bossanova covers of synth-pop songs, which are already pretty melodic and sing-songy. The Cardigans' "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath," for example, works because it reveals a gorgeous melody amidst a song that's not usually seen in that way. But a bossanova "I Melt With You," for as much as I honestly do love bossanova, makes me miss the energy and the propulsion of the original.
