drunk in the morning!

David Svensson (deangulberry), Thursday, 7 April 2005 16:58 (twenty years ago)

more like drunk at 2:30am coming back, i assume, from a bar or a party, me startled awake by the sound of crumpling metal and screams outside. the kid driving new his life was over, sitting on the curb crying while the cops cuffed him and took him away.

jack cole (jackcole), Thursday, 7 April 2005 17:03 (twenty years ago)

I HIT A PEDESTRIAN THE OTHER DAY. SHE CROSSED AGAINST THE LIGHT. THEN CALLED ME A STUPID ASS.

OHHHHH, IM THE STUPID ASS?

ddb (ddb), Thursday, 7 April 2005 18:36 (twenty years ago)

WATHC WHERE YOU'RE GOING BRIDOG

Ian John50n (orion), Thursday, 7 April 2005 18:38 (twenty years ago)

The street I live on is at the base of a small hill so several of the cross streets have bicyclists or skaters coming down building momentum leading to a a goodly number of accidents and my lving room affords a good view of the intersection though none have been too serious.

M. White (Miguelito), Thursday, 7 April 2005 18:59 (twenty years ago)

I always plan on getting run over once or twice while in the Bay Area.

David Svensson (deangulberry), Thursday, 7 April 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

My parents used to live near a Y intersection on a dark narrow country road. Lots of accidents. Also, one branch of the Y is a long straight downhill that is completely blind to the other branch until you're on top of it!

Cars are death machines. I almost ran a stop sign last week and I still feel guilty about it.

why are the stars so tiny?(akadaerestrsg) (crablangoon), Thursday, 7 April 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

I pretty much let my car go to avoid ever, ever drunk driving.

The Sensational Sulk (sexyDancer), Thursday, 7 April 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

jesus, jack. Just read this thread. When I first read "bikers" I immediately thought, like, motorbikes. how horrible. do you know for sure what condition the kids are in?

sexyDancer OTM. I sold my car three years ago. I got a DUI. Stupidest thing I've ever done in my life, without a doubt. I sold my car because, i got really really lucky -- god fuckin shined on me that day, I realized I obviously had a problem, and I simply was not going to ever ever put myself in that position again. I still drink, just take cabs and public transport everywhere. Everyone can feel free to call me a loser and dirtbag and piece of shit for getting the DUI in the first place -- I can take it, I agree, and I got totally totally lucky by getting nabbed by the cops that night, no doubt about it.

JACK SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THIS MAN

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 8 April 2005 02:35 (twenty years ago)

stormy, those without sin can go fuck themselves. you learned your lesson, no one should think badly about you, duderman.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 8 April 2005 02:49 (twenty years ago)

yeah, the only reason i never got one in college was luck. i chilled my behavior after getting in a wreck sober. it humbled my view of the road big time.

my wife has narcolepsy and she takes drugs to help her stay awake, but everytime she gets behind a wheel, something in the back of my head goes, "eek." she's wrecked. in broad day light. in city traffic. zzz crash. ugh, we need to move somewhere that she can walk.

provigil?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 8 April 2005 03:03 (twenty years ago)

aw thanks, stence. I didn't mean to get all emo there or anything. It's just, I read jack's description of this kid crying and knowing his life was over -- and if something terrible did happen to these people then that's true, it is -- and I couldn't help but put myself in his place. You don't even want to know what I blew that night. That kid could have easily been me -- heck, he probably had a lot less than I did. That wouldn't be hard. The whole thing is really total chance. Some guys make it home, some guys end up in the tank for a night, and some guys ruin their -- and others' -- lives.

Stormy Davis (diamond), Friday, 8 April 2005 03:11 (twenty years ago)

dude, i'm lucky i never wound up in his place myself. but as long as you learn something from your mistakes, you're absolved, i think.

"if you feel, you're healed."

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 8 April 2005 03:16 (twenty years ago)

she tried provigil and it wasn't workin out. she's been on dexedrine (speed!)... but evidentally that's becoming uncool and hard to come by. i forget what she's taking now but it's annoying her. our prescription drug situation is somewhat of a nightmare. i'm sure we're better off than many, cause we can afford to buy em, but we don't get any help from the insurance companies. these new pills cost more too.

oh canada, why can't your borders extend a lot further south?]

msp (mspa), Friday, 8 April 2005 03:35 (twenty years ago)

provigil?
