charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 9 April 2005 12:45 (twenty years ago)

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 9 April 2005 12:49 (twenty years ago)

cutty (mcutt), Saturday, 9 April 2005 12:52 (twenty years ago)

well, i never liked them that much really, but i havent heard those 2, so its time to give them a go

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 9 April 2005 12:55 (twenty years ago)

those are the good ones.

cutty (mcutt), Saturday, 9 April 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

AND REMEMBER SNFU ON FAT WRECKORDS>??i used to listen to them in my 8th grad/ska/d&D/sweatsuit world, so i decided to mpick it up again, BUT IT WAS SNUFF FROM ENGLAND NOT SNFU....bummer

brock (brock), Saturday, 9 April 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

i like eluvium a bunch. and i like those love generation rekkerds too. they are too twee for some (i like the lyrics. they had cool original songs.)

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:32 (twenty years ago)

and everyone likes archie and patsy and ennio and pharoah.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:34 (twenty years ago)

and rosemary.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:34 (twenty years ago)

brother ah, "sound awareness"
yet another terry riley thing on organ of corti

hstencil (hstencil), Saturday, 9 April 2005 16:35 (twenty years ago)

izipho zam is as good as ever

i like the first track on the archie shepp

i played both broadcast albums on the way into work this morning. i still dont like noise made by people, but there were a number of good tracks on haha sounds, love the drumming on...man is not a bird? still dont really like her voice though

i think i'll play the love generation on the way home

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 11 April 2005 13:03 (twenty years ago)

!

montage, by the love generation, is fantastic! this surely is a jimmy webb thing. why didnt i notice this song last time around?

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 11 April 2005 22:46 (twenty years ago)

i love hawaiian drony slack key guitar music (much more so than ukelele serenades). the tribal drumming and chanting music is pretty great too.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 11 April 2005 22:50 (twenty years ago)

the others on this list have got their work cut out to match this love generation track!

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 11 April 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

the hawaiian comps are strange. they have al shaw on! al shaw was english!

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 11 April 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

wasnt really into the eclection album

eluvium was ok, but a bit drab, its a bit like stars of the lid but not as nice

john rydgren is completely crazy. i still cant work out if this is for real. started a thread on ilm but it only got one answer. is it a 68 sunset strip wacko loungepsychefreak got christianity, or is it some straight and narrow type laying on the hip talk baby to sell god? either way, woah. do i like it? i dont even know

but....the love generation!

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 11 April 2005 22:56 (twenty years ago)

you know what? john rydgren and rod mckuen, they're kind of not that far apart?

the mckuen track, bathtub surfing, thats pretty wild, i kind of like that.

hang 10

hang 5

hang on

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 11 April 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

i kind of wish cyrus faryar had made more rydgren/mckuen/mayer styled albums. or...maybe he did?

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 11 April 2005 22:59 (twenty years ago)

the last track on Izipho Zam is one of the greatest jams of all time

Sonny, Ah!!1 (Sonny A.), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 02:02 (twenty years ago)

Tauhid is the far superior record. IZ is a bit of a mess. A good mess, though.

Stormy Davis (diamond), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 02:29 (twenty years ago)

Balance

---- (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 02:54 (twenty years ago)

"Japan" from Tauhid is one of the nicest jams of all time

Sonny, Ah!!1 (Sonny A.), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 03:15 (twenty years ago)

Yeah! It's so delicate, so pretty.

Stormy Davis (diamond), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 03:21 (twenty years ago)

rosemary clooney & perez prado - a touch of tabasco

how's this?

---- (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 03:23 (twenty years ago)

msp (mspa), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 05:23 (twenty years ago)

adam, i havent played the clooney yet

msp, yes, thats the one. its from 69 and is in a sort of metti una sera a cena style, languid and hazy

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 09:07 (twenty years ago)

waikikis - lollipops & roses

what is this? Are you sending me some Hawaiian musics? Are you sending me more music like Johnny L?

---- (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 13:41 (twenty years ago)

yeah, i've got some of ennio's stuff. i love it generally. it's hard to collect tho cause there's so much.

m.

msp (mspa), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 13:47 (twenty years ago)

there will be hawaiian music sent adam (although the waikikis were...belgian!). there'll be some jonny l like stuff also (though ooh i like it, always sounds like an anomaly to me, a fish out of water, so itll be hurt you so type stuff, more)

there is a huge amount yes, and its difficult to know what are the great ones, and what are the ok ones, but this is one of the best - of course 1969 is a high point for morricone in general, bettered by only de roubaix arond this time?)

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 13:52 (twenty years ago)

sweet! thx for the info. i'll have to delve then. it's like the crane game you play at the arcade... if you spot the plush bunny you want first, it makes controlling that goofy machine a lot easier.

"visualize.... na na na na na!"

msp (mspa), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 14:05 (twenty years ago)

Remy (x Jeremy), Tuesday, 12 April 2005 19:28 (twenty years ago)

the nonesuch is ok,but im not really into mexican stuff.

i was thinking anout getting the 6cd andy iona box set, but, thats a lot of andy iona! the gaugin tahiti comp is possible too. its difficult to find stuff from guam though, isnt it?

i think i dont really like broadcast so much

still cant find the gravity adjusters expansion band lp. or manix headin to the light (even though i already have it!)

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 19 April 2005 04:59 (twenty years ago)

what is the killers album like? i hear it out sometimes,it sounds ok?

its a pity stu phillips soundtrack to follow me is still not reissued, that would be good

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 19 April 2005 05:03 (twenty years ago)

If you like the singles, you'll probably like the whole Killers album.

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 19 April 2005 11:55 (twenty years ago)

Ian John50n (orion), Tuesday, 19 April 2005 14:44 (twenty years ago)
