mostly work/family time related issues. it was fun. those guys better keep playing. looks like they will.
my band trajectory of the last 5 years has been following a sort of 90s arc:
-band from 2001... an mix of indie rock and post punk + psych... pavement + mission of burma... a good '92 band.
-band from 2002 with gygax... a david grubbs telepathic covers band... dude, gygax can play some music ya'll. great 93, 94.
-band from 2003 by myself... solo basement cassettes... + midi noise... okay, i don't know how to put that in the 95-96 range, but i think there's gotta be something. oh, wait... swill radio. yeah. and quintron probably without any pussy or robots. (which is pretty much only dungeons and dragons at that point.)
-band from 2004... post-hardcore/emocore + mathy metal like meshuggah + party of helicopters in a time capsule... 95 to 96-1998
which best fits next:
a) me and my 3 year old singing wiggles covers with free guitar... i actually just got my father in law's ukelele whose top string unwinds whenever i tune it. who need tunings anyways? hey, should i teach him half-japanese songs? rfi jack cole on "best half-japanese songs to teach your 3 year old".b) abstract electronica with Pd.. def 1999-2000 c) basement darla indie twee ... def 99-00 for me at least.d) me and a karaoke machine breaking up noise shows with britney+jpop hits. taiwan deth is gonna hate me. actually, it'd probably be funny the first time. those guys are too cool to care.
