sonic youth... goo, evol, dirty...
wilco "ghost is born" ... has some good mellow staticness on it.
yo la tengo "no where near" is dreamy... they have others too.
stereolab ... the older, locked groove moog wailer ones

most of the kranky records catalog.

there's some good palace/will oldham stuff. night time is the right time.
