Goyim are just non-Jews (literally "nations"), but there are certian shades of meaning to the word Goyish that you pick up having a Jewish family or hanging around Jews enough. It's not exactly a superiority thing (i.e. the "chosen people" myth), so much as just "that's what THEY do, not what WE do" -- things that, in a subtle way, seem culturally foreign to Jews.
