omg shooby is incredible!

i saw irwin chusid give a presentation on outsider music and he has tons of old recordings that shooby's son was going to throw out after he died. lots of covers/"duets" with jazz greats. they're working on getting permissions, etc. to release it!

Shooby is great. Absolutely Kosher is finally going to put out a legit CD of his stuff this year sometime, though unfortunately Shooby isnt alive to see it happen. Fortuately, he was found before he died so he found out about how many people loved his work, including me.

i love the shooby and every time i listen to him it makes my heart warm and gives me that feeling of reverence that I had for music when i was a little kid.
that said, that bit where he belts out "when the fuck you gonna realize that?" makes me laugh every time.
