hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 13 June 2005 03:18 (twenty years ago)

oh sweeeet -- is it Slow Motion?? That's like one of my absolute favorite recs of the 90s. So so so good. Great improvisers at the top of their game -- there's nothing more exhilarating in music...

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 13 June 2005 03:49 (twenty years ago)

yeah listening to slow motion right now broski. i have some other ones too i haven't listened to in a while. need to bust them out. need to sell more cds tho, i am brokey. bye bye jazz.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 13 June 2005 03:51 (twenty years ago)

that record gets really intense; great to listen to in the dark....

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 13 June 2005 03:59 (twenty years ago)

Stormy Davis (diamond), Monday, 13 June 2005 04:00 (twenty years ago)

GARETH U R BONKERS. DISCO INFERNO SUCKS. ESP COMPARED TO SEEFEEL.

ddb (ddb), Monday, 13 June 2005 13:03 (twenty years ago)

i dunno, DI are overrated, yes, but i havent heard any seefeel that can compete with the love stepping out/summers last sound 12" (which is better than the rest of DI's output combined)

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 13 June 2005 13:20 (twenty years ago)

i always had a hard time getting past DI's name and never gave them a chance.

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 13 June 2005 15:22 (twenty years ago)

jed_ (jed), Monday, 13 June 2005 16:27 (twenty years ago)

dunno, really, its the 94 milieu isnt it, laika, pram, seefeel, DI,

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 13 June 2005 17:09 (twenty years ago)

D.I. "Team Goon"

Amon (eman), Monday, 13 June 2005 21:29 (twenty years ago)

On my birthday last year, I checked into the Argyle, put Quique on the stereo in my room and sank into my giant aluminum bathtub, drinking beer.

It is a good record.

the D Double signal (nordicskilla), Monday, 13 June 2005 21:34 (twenty years ago)

one year passes...
I was listening to the Too Pure podcast and they said they were reissuing Quique on May 14. Anyone know any details?

William Selman, Sunday, 4 March 2007 17:31 (nineteen years ago)

double disc. b-sides and alt mixes and whatnot on the second. mostly more "ambient" and drawn out and dubby than quique itself. less drive, more drift. etc etc etc.

strongohulkington, Sunday, 4 March 2007 17:43 (nineteen years ago)

i should buy a pram album. i'll bet i would like them. i like that too pure stuff. i mostly just listen to old faith healers rekkerds though. i like the seefeel stuff too. i should buy some CDs. they have a great section at the record store here! ned sent me a cd of the disco inferno stuff and i liked it. i still haven't heard the go pop album though.

scott seward, Sunday, 4 March 2007 17:54 (nineteen years ago)

they got the go pop alb on emusic scott if you do that sort of thing

strongohulkington, Sunday, 4 March 2007 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

i think maria pays for it. maybe. i'll check on that. i'd like to hear it. i still have never heard bark psychosis if we are talking ilm warhorses.

scott seward, Sunday, 4 March 2007 17:58 (nineteen years ago)

pretty sure they got some barky psychosis on there too

strongohulkington, Sunday, 4 March 2007 18:02 (nineteen years ago)

how come the noise board has so much stuff I remember from old IDM times lately?

TOMBOT, Sunday, 4 March 2007 18:07 (nineteen years ago)

we're gettin old. it's past time for all this shit to get its own DELUXE PAVEMENT-STYLE REISSUES.

Yeah, "Helium" and the "Meshes" EP are both pretty excellent and hold up quite well; the drumming on those records is amazing. I find myself going back every couple of years or so and listening to those post-shoegaze/pre-postrock records that I bought when they came out in like 92-94--and not purely for nostalgia reasons. "Eva Luna" by Moonshake from that era is worth owning also.

That said, I would say that the record I do listen to most often from that era is Quique, so I'm happy to see that they are rereleasing with all the bonus material. It's definitely a timeless sorta record and could easily pick up a new audience.

Bamp because I'm listening to Succour and just now realizing how fucking awesome it is.

Succour is so good! I think I somehow assumed it wasn't as good as the others because it was on Warp.

why are people so captivated with post-Quique Seefeel? truly, there is a Succour born every minute!

Just got an e-mail from the LPR folks. Seems the entire US tour has been cancelled. Ugh. I was really looking forward to it.

kwhitehead, Tuesday, 14 June 2011 20:29 (fourteen years ago)

That is a bummer. My buddies are playing at Millennium Park in Chicago on the fourth of July and Seefeel was supposed to be the headliner.
Yeah, everyone was confused about it, but that's what was supposed to happen.
