plus, on the back they have all the illustrations of the doodz paired into twos (cuz the album is all guitar duos and each dude plays on two tracks so there are two pictures of each dude on the back cover coupled with two other dudes) and it was doubly trippt out. and inside the booklet is a full-on side by side illustration of all the dudes (same illustration, it's just horizontal now) and that illustration is right next to the cover illustration when you unfold the booklet and i kept staring and staring trying to figure out what these guys were like and what their lives were like and where they came from and where they are going and can we call some sort of moratorium on the shoegeezer takoma worship already or has it not run its course yet. i do heart jack rose. i think he owns my kelsey grammer painting. but these doodz, i dunno, man, they are screaming lookatmyillustratedfacelookatmyillustratedface and i'm gonna take it along with some other stuff and get this album by chaz jankel's old prog band that i have on hold and a big daddy kane tape.

Scott, I wanna see ALL of your paintings.
Do you do requests? How much does one of your paintings cost? I'd like a painting of Batman by Scott Seward.

Ian John50n (orion), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 23:12 (twenty years ago)

i request "freebird"

something about dan aykroyd coming out of burritoville (deangulberry), Wednesday, 15 June 2005 23:21 (twenty years ago)

i have never heard freebird

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 16 June 2005 03:51 (twenty years ago)

last time i had snazzy brownies it was quite the "okay, it can stop now" sort of thing. the next day even. i threw up. not entirely cool.

chrltnld,
well, if scott paints freebird, maybe you can imagine it.

seriously, i'm shocked you haven't heard that tune on tv or in a movie. it's kinda well blurted.

msp (mspa), Thursday, 16 June 2005 04:01 (twenty years ago)

i know its famous, and there is that thing where people shout it at gigs, for comedic affect (though i have never personally witnessed that), but i dont think ive heard it. maybe, i would recognise it though, if i heard it somewhere

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 16 June 2005 04:11 (twenty years ago)

when i say affect, i mean effect, of course. its late

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 16 June 2005 08:02 (twenty years ago)

I ate an enhanced brownie on sunday, went cliff-diving at a state forest, then saw WWVV. It couldn't have been more fun.

Tripmaker (SDWitzm), Thursday, 16 June 2005 12:11 (twenty years ago)

When I ate a hash cake, I ended up standing in a chinese restaurant bathroom for an hour because it was warm and then watching people play backgammon as my spine melted.

h0t h0t h0rsey (Carey), Thursday, 16 June 2005 12:19 (twenty years ago)

I found a TICK later, though, in the worst place of all time to find one.

I really, really have fond memories of about 5 Jawbreaker songs.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 16 June 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

joan of arc quite possibly might be the worst band i've ever seen live. and that includes dudes in a casino in biloxi, mississippi playing jimmy buffett covers.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 16 June 2005 19:14 (twenty years ago)

i did always wanna hear the record the dude who played electronics put out, tho. he seemed like the only non-dumbass in that band.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 16 June 2005 19:16 (twenty years ago)

i think i might have seen them one time... is there a female bassplayer?

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 16 June 2005 19:16 (twenty years ago)

not when i saw them. i have no idea who is in the band now. the electronix guy (i think is named jeremy) was blonde with glasses and really skinny. he played homemade electronix which were in big wooden boxes.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 16 June 2005 19:17 (twenty years ago)

ELECTRONICS POWERED BY EMOTION.
