INDIE DOESNT FUCKING MEAN ANYTHING. FIND NEW, MORE SPECIFIC WORDS THAT AREN'T FUCKING VAGUE OR THE SORT USED AS A PUTDOWN BY MIDDLE AGED CRITICS WITH BEER BELLIES WHO LIKE TO JERK OFF TO 18 YEAR OLD GIRLS AND BOYS MAKING MANUFACTURED POP RECORDS. THANKS!

jack cole's skeletal remains found at the bottom of a ravine (jackcole), Friday, 24 June 2005 06:38 (twenty years ago)

AND DON'T GET THE IDEA THAT THINK EVERYTHING UNDERGROUND OR, AS SOME MIGHT CALL IT, "INDIE" OR "NOISE" OR WHATEVER IS ALL PEACHY KEEN EITHER. AT LEASE NOISE FUCKING MEANS SOMETHING AESTHETICALLY WHEREAS WHAT THE FUCK DOES INDIE MEAN? "BANDS THAT AREN'T MAINSTREAM BUT WRITE SONGS?" DOES THAT MEAN BRIGHT EYES AND KILLDOZER ARE THE SAME THING?

jack cole's skeletal remains found at the bottom of a ravine (jackcole), Friday, 24 June 2005 07:09 (twenty years ago)

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Friday, 24 June 2005 12:03 (twenty years ago)

bright eyes and killdozer have many similarities. they are both indie, for example, in a way that dvorak, don cherry, marcos valle, dj deeon, lawrence welk, steely dan, usher, pauline oliveros, alan siva, paul whiteman and three six mafia are not

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 24 June 2005 12:10 (twenty years ago)

manufactured? what does this even mean?

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 24 June 2005 12:12 (twenty years ago)

i saw a couple killdozer records in the store in baltimore the other week funnily enough in the indie section, a couple rows over from a bright eyes cd. i saw the albert ayler record in the jazz section. haha, albert ayler and louis armstrong! both in the jazz section! extraordinary!

brg30 (brg30), Saturday, 25 June 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

this thread is making me want to listen to some killdozer. i don't think i even have any anymore. i think i sold their records in the great crash of 92.actually, you know what i want to hear? scratch acid's beserker. i have that somewhere. i really think it's the best thing they ever did. it's almost flawless. one of the great records of the 80's. truly! i don't know what i want to hear. CMT has the history of southern rock on in half an hour.

scott seward (scott seward), Saturday, 25 June 2005 02:22 (twenty years ago)
