Neighbour trouble

OH MY GOD PEOPLE ARE HAVING PARTIES ONCE A MONTH AND MAKING SO MUCH NOISE AT 2AM ON A SATURDAY IT'S RUINING MY LIFE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO STOP THE PARTIES CALL THE NOISE POLICE

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Monday, 11 July 2005 11:44 (twenty years ago)

I wouldn't mind but as you know people in Britain listen to SHIT INDIE all the time and I don't wanna hear my neighbos playing that at any volume.

(Also, I dunno how much of a factor this is but let's just say the last Saturday night/Sunday morning wasn't just any old Saturday night/Sunday morning for some people. There's a certain context to that linked post. Not that neighbours are gonna know (or maybe even care) anyway.)

My neighbours had some sort of party last Wednesday night - wtf were they celebrating the Olympic decision or something? Weirdos.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 11 July 2005 12:00 (twenty years ago)

I spent one night when I had to share a room absolutely awake because I could hear him and his girlfriend whispering super-quietly.

NO SEXXNOIZE PLEASE WERE BRITISH

m coleman (lovebug starski), Monday, 11 July 2005 12:11 (twenty years ago)

The John Connell-DEFRA award was established to encourage local authorities to develop schemes which would raise awareness of noise problems, mediate and settle conflicts arising from them and investigate practical solutions to noise-related issues.

In 2003 the awards were expanded to include industry and education with an award for innovation (Innovation and Technology Award) and one for young people (Marsh Innovation Award). However, in light of a dissapointing response to the latter, individual awards for Innovation and Technology were considered to be more appropriate.

london is kind of fraught at the moment.

apparently this is no excuse.

Well, Americans are totally loud and largely free of irony, which can make communication with them frustrating and irritating.

I'd still rather be in Tokyo (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 15:34 (twenty years ago)

Check out the commas in the first response to that thread!

PHOIOEI (blastocyst), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

I can't tell if he's making fun of Pashmina or not!

PHOIOEI (blastocyst), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 15:41 (twenty years ago)

I guess I shoulda read the whole thing...

Everyone pays for being out of the ILX loop eventually.

PHOIOEI (blastocyst), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 15:43 (twenty years ago)

I think that we, all, should use commas, more frequently.

Jon, remind me again why you haven't drowned in your own vomit (ex machina), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 15:45 (twenty years ago)

I would like to be more like Adam, I must confess. I'm almost there, all I need is better music taste, a wife and a suntan.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 15:59 (twenty years ago)

Is this a new trend: calling people "tools" ?

PHOIOEI (blastocyst), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

I agree that Jon hasn't really done anything wrong, except maybe just go a little too far in his baiting of Kate (although, as always, that's a two-way street). But if people are feeling too sensitive and fragile about the bombings, then perhaps they should stay off ILX, or seek support through threads specifically about the bombings and related events. Not revive threads about NOISY NEIGHBORS and just put yourself out there, you know?

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

I would like to be more like Adam, I must confess. I'm almost there, all I need is better music taste, a wife and a suntan.

I have shit taste in music! And no tan at the moment!

I'd like to be like Gareth or Stevem.

I'd still rather be in Tokyo (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 16:13 (twenty years ago)

I think we need to either get Markleby and Kate into a big fight with other or conspire to get them to fall in love with each other and make babies. Either result would be pretty entertaining.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 16:17 (twenty years ago)

You and Sarah should make a baby. It could be in your band.

I'd still rather be in Tokyo (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 16:18 (twenty years ago)

That seems like a rather inefficient and pricey way to put together a band.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

But we thank you for your suggestion.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

Is England the chosen land, why is it the greatest country in the world

the only forum that can handle the weight of that grammatically-challenged question

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 5 October 2007 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

The UK is with out doubt the chosen land, it is the only country in the world, that is free of deadly snakes, deadly spiders, & mosquitoes, how is it every country in the world has mosquitoes but the UK does not, is it because it is the chosen land, that god created himself as his prize asset.
