It's a tough call, but I vote stoned. Booze is great for for shutting off higher brain function and having silly fun, but I have better conversations stoned, and enjoy various media with more intensity.

drunk makes me giddy and say all the eloquent things that always end up coming out jumbled if i try to voice them sober. plus it makes me more sincere, which i think is good.
stoned just makes me tired and dumb.

actually i like the ideal stoned a lot better than the ideal drunk but i can't get the ideal stoned anymore. it's more like curling up in a ball and my whole body hurting and tensing up, and hating everything. maybe i am too old also!

and weed is fine for hangs with people i know pretty well. like 2-8 friends + pot + music/games/conversation/walks/whatever = super winning. i just don't like it as much at big parties.

maybe it is a lady thing! also, i think part of it is that i smoked a ton of pot when i was in high school and kind of got over it before i graduated. most of the stoners i knew in college had never touched it before college. my main issue with smoking pot is that in the past 4 years or so, every time i have, i've gotten really sleepy and just wanted to sleep instead of enjoying it. then, i'd wake up the next day annoyed that i'd given in and smoked and not had any fun. also, i suffer from ridiculous bouts of paranoia when stoned.
