What's up in the world of NOIZE?

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Wednesday, 11 August 2004 04:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I downloaded some stuff recommended to me hstencil and ddb.

Also, I had a Thai beef salad.

The new Comets on Fire is killer. I've also been jammin' the most recent Jandek, which is his scariest/most upsetting album in a while, I think.

As far as STRAIGHT UP NOIZE, I've been listening to the fairly recent Dead Machines tape "The Night People" and Ceylon Mange's "The Dirt Drinkers" CDr.

Last two things I got were:

1. Flying Luttenbachers' Systems Emerge from Complete Disorder--maybe a masterpiece and his best thing yet, but I'm wondering about my relationship with an album like this after having had it for a really long time, putting it on, I think, twice or three times, and never having listened to it all the way through.

2. The Zs album on Vothoc/Troubleman--Like it, but same situation, pretty much.

Oh yeah, and Black Dice rekkerdz and Wonderful Rainbow and Wolf Eyes' Slicer CD. (I have not listened to Slicer all the way through yet!)

I like Forcefield! Was just listening to Lord of the Rings Modulator (don't call me 2003!). I have never listened to it all the way through, but based on the first half hour...

Lord of the Rings Modulator>>>>Creature Comforts

Speaking of Bulb releases from 2003, I really like that Terrifying Sickos LP. (I have some copies, actually--if anyone wants one, let me know.)

Also: I stuck up for Masonna on Geeta Dayal's blog. That's cuz I am a noise DUDE.

Terrifying Sickos lp is very good but that makes Tim late 80s.
