Oh Dan, that's you. Sorry, I didn't realize. I don't know - honestly, I'd have been a little annoyed reading that, too. I'm not sure who the subject of the joke is or even what your particular stance on the music is that backs up the joke in one way or another.

its an excerpt from a ariel pink write up. not a review per se, willfully heliotropic ad copy. it boggled my mind how many were annoyed by my write-ups then. sort of fanned the fire i guess. and the editor was into it. and ariel.

eventually i went "straight," then retired.

but maybe i'll return by popular demand some day. the interpol one and the liars one caused a fair amount of distress i seem to recall...they were the "hits"

the irony was mostly lost on us cos every now cos some were well written or even poetic. I seem to remember a Black Dice ep, something about a ship hitting land being OTM.
