My only contact with the ILE board is the ILE hugglez list someone linked here, and the occasions when the hugglez spread on NOIZE. For what it's worth 95% precent of the board might be nice and funny, but based on those examples I freely admit I don't like the sort of "hugglez attitude" they represent (or misrepresent). The hugglez list feels like sour grapes, the personal hugglez on certain people I just find incomprehensible and also something that people with any decency wouldn't do in real life (so thank god for NOIZE), and, as someone pointed out, the hugglez atttitude seems to be being inoffensive and uncontroversial because it's supposed to be cool. I know a gay in real life who does a similar sort of thing, and people are getting a bit tired of it. I can sympathize with him to a degree, because I used be kinda like him (though less extreme) when I was his age - being uncontroversial and unaggressive because it seemed to give me a certain lack of power. But as I grew up I became more sure of myself, and realized I didn't really need to draw strength from such behaviour, so I moved on; I hope he does too. I'm not saying the hugglez attitude as a whole is like this, only that for an outsider who only encounters it on NOIZE it sometimes feels like it.
