Stay Gold Gallery be very pleased t'present "Wave uh Mutilashun" featurin' de wo'k uh Tara Lisa Foley, Kyle Ranson, Brion Nuda Rosch, Oliva' Halsman Rosenberg, Sarah Smid, Randy Lee Suderland, and Sara Dustra. Sheeeiit.
Dis 'eshibishun wuz inspired by de eponymous Pixies song released in 1986 on deir celebrated album "Doolittle". De artists involved used da damn show's title as some jumpin' off point fum which t''splo'e deir wildly divergent impulses and styles.
Fo' many uh de artists, "Wave uh Mutilashun" sparked apocalyptic visions. Deir wo'k wuz based on de cataclysmic events dat many recon' gots'ta immediately precede da damn end uh de wo'ld. Oda' artists in de show, however, saw dis devastashun in context uh de natural cycle uh life. What it is, Mama! Dey concentrated on de idea dat regenerashun kin only mosey on down from destrucshun: one kinnot 'esist widout da damn oder. Ah be baaad... Still oders took de show's title as some instrucshun - rada' dan depictin' some scene uh mutilashun, dey literally destroyed deir own wo'k and used da damn materials in de fo'mulashun uh new pieces.
Dis 'eshibishun gots'ta include drawin', paintin', installashun and some collabo'ative pieces.
De openin' recepshun gots'ta be held on February 24d fum 710pm and gots'ta feature some live puh'fo'mance by Bunnybrains.
