Guess what guys, a lot of people who aren't upper middle class like indie rock. I even know some -- y'know, they have like student loans to pay and they're living at home and working shit jobs and stuff like that.

i saw this film once, about people in some form of temporary housing, they wore these sort of thick shirts that were like checked. they lived far from town in dysfunctional families, and many turned to drink and even drugs as an escape. there was this one scene where one of them had to work in a diner, and even though he really needed the money, he quit because of the way his friend was treated there, and i think it meant he wouldn't get any more work in that town. there was a real sense of pain and hopelessness, it was very moving
