Wrong
When you feel so much you're right
It's positively airtight
Just at the moment all your doubt is gone
You may discover that you're...
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!

And for your life, you don't know why
It's much too late and you're too old to cry
But you're wrong
And you're on the losing end
And the wrong's too wrong to mend
What to do? What to do?!!

Mistakes
Mistakes will come and go
First you're high and then you're low
You may be loving life and riding along*
But the people keep insisting you're...
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!

Every time you turn your head
Someone else is right instead
And you're wrong
Everything is going wrong
Everything is going wrong
What to do? What to do?!!

Hear me world, I'm right
Even so, I feel it's wrong
I can wait, but not for long

To get my thinking up to date
Oh, correction, I mean straight
From wrong
In the eyes of just myself!
Just like everybody else!
That's wrong!
That's wrong!!!

* This is how he sang it live. I don't know what he's saying on the record.

Sometimes, people talk me down
"Uh huh," they say to me
Oh, anytime, it gets me down
It's good nobody sees me

Sometimes, when I'm all alone
Uh huh, most every day
Every time I telephone
I don't know what to say. They...

Talk me down, one and all
And ask me why I call

Not much left for me to do
As if I didn't care
Talk me down; ain't nothing new
But I don't think it's fair

Talk me down, one and all
And ask me why I call

Maybe some day, I'll have found
"Uh huh" won't have to be
Just another talk me down
Uh huh, won't have to be me

Uh huh
Uh huh

I'm a busy man
With a lot of time on my hands
What you're asking is a female plan
A vaudeville show
And my answer to you is
An affirmative no

What is the line in the bridge of "Masculine Intuition?" "Keep coming on strong/Nothing else gets no newer?"

There was a show in NY with the Fuzztones backing him up; don't know if Ron played on that one. I think Ron played at the one show in L.A. in 2001 or so. We did a tour of Europe in 2004 with a different drummer, but he learned Ron's parts pretty much exactly. Ron was great.

nephews/MM connection?

SQUARECOATS (plsmith), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 15:09 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, sort of! The old bass player from the Nephews was the one who met Sean and organized the new group and I got to play on the tour. It was killer. We did this whole show with different *events* happening over the course of the set (involving the band freezing like statues, Sean's voice being heard singing when he was not onstage, one routine involving Sean's glove, etc.). We had the sound down really well (flat-wound strings key for MM fuzztone sound) and a great organist and drummer who learned the tunes note for note. The live album that Sean just put out is great. This was the set list:

Instrumental medley (before Sean came out - passages from "Black Snow," "Everything Is Everything," "Absolutely Positively," "Soul Love," and "Unka Tinka Ty")
Some Other Drum
Trouble
The People in Me
Wrong
Mother Nature Father Earth
Talk Me Down
Bottom of the Soul
Double Yellow Line
Advise and Consent
Masculine Intuition
Eagle Never Hunts the Fly
You'll Love Me Again
Come On In
Talk Talk

Encore:
No Girl Gonna Cry
Affirmative No
