So I'm out pickin' pockets at the Atlantic Antic
And nobody wants to hear you cause your rhymes are so frantic

-Beastie Boys

Actually one of the few good street fairs. There was an interesting article recently about how all the street fairs have the same crappy sock vendors who all come from like NJ or whatever. At least with the Atlantic Antic you get the bars and restaraunts on the street involved.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Friday, 15 September 2006 16:03 (nineteen years ago)

The 5th Avenue fair, oh I forget when it was, last spring?, had lots of bars & restaurants in play, some even had dining tents and DJs and etc. Unfortunately, the weather sucked.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 15 September 2006 16:15 (nineteen years ago)

not noise: laughably overpriced used records stalls
noise: bouncy tent

mr. brojangles (sanskrit), Friday, 15 September 2006 16:33 (nineteen years ago)

LATE HEADLINE!

we will be selling at atlantic antic today (sunday)....in brooklyn of
all places.

two locations....atlantic ave near court street (steve) and atlantic
ave near henry (larry)...

from nine until six! the van is weighted down with records and i'm not
kidding. fifty cent vinyl, two dollar cds, general fun and folic.
larry's gf amy will have vintage clothes alongside his spot. the weather
will be perfect so there is no excuse not to stop by.

ten percent off if you mention this email.

also, don't forget the poor old store in jersey city (irisrecs.com). we
have no cats but the records are still there. plus, we've scheduled
another in-store performance of the good lord willings
(www.myspace.com/thegoodlordwillings) with the brinkman-daly band (not sure what they are
doing but it will certainly be good) along with beer. the date? october
13th here in jc. there will be an art opening across the street and the
vintage store also. more info to follow.

have a great sunday. and root for michael vick and reggie bush (no

sanskrit, Friday, 28 September 2007 16:09 (eighteen years ago)

ha i was about to revive it to! is there anything interesting about this street fair as opposed to, say, laurel's thing up at the cloisters?

bell_labs, Friday, 28 September 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

One of the best things is getting on the buses from the '40 and '50s. And some of the eateries have free/cheap tastes of things.

I will nev get up to Cloisters, esp if there's a meaningful Mets game on Sunday, but I want to go to this if only for red velvet cake pitstop & WFMU table.

Dr Morbius, Friday, 28 September 2007 16:19 (eighteen years ago)

lauren, Friday, 28 September 2007 16:21 (eighteen years ago)
