i heard that the ratings are a "wicked scandal" in the bay area!

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 15:31 (nineteen years ago)

Not really, it's mostly ratings done by French people or Francophiles. What would a Parisian think of Americans' reviews of Paris restaurants? Probably the same.

Were you at the hump?

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 15:35 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, i figured as much. fwiw, this guy was a total twit and not at all a treat like a professional wakeboarder might be.

I loved what Charles Phan of Slanted Door said. I feel bad for Passot and Keller, though.

Ha-ha, one of the one-star restaurants is on the verge of closing and it's only 6 months old.

But anyways... the French... they like French things! Viva viva, moi non plus.

At Bistro Don Giovanni in Napa, the Michelin-guided are told to expect the cooking of Liguria, the Italian coastal area known for pesto and seafood.

"Ligurian? I don't do anything but regional Italian," said co-owner Donna Scala. "Where's this information coming from? Who did the research?"

Since when is Liguria not a region of Italy?

M. White (Miguelito), Friday, 6 October 2006 16:05 (nineteen years ago)

I think the point is that the reviewer claimed the restaurant specialized in a cuisine that the owner/chefs were unfamiliar with.
