SHEESH

we're talking about WORK PANTS not DUNGAREES

DICKIES WORK PANT VS BEN DAVIS WORK PANT

carhartt = not appropriate, unless they have a 50/50 cotton/poly khaki style black pant i'm not aware of

HUNTA-V (vahid), Saturday, 7 October 2006 23:14 (nineteen years ago)

to recap: all of you people who said carhartt missed the point, but i will look into the dickies because "raver gangbanger" = pretty much me summed up in two words

ok moving on

IT IS FEEBLE AND FLIMSY

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Sunday, 8 October 2006 00:56 (nineteen years ago)

Has to be INDIAN. A man needs VINDALOO.

ALLAH FROG (Mingus Dew), Sunday, 8 October 2006 01:07 (nineteen years ago)

prolly indian, but i have a good halfway point - burmese

jaxon (jaxon), Sunday, 8 October 2006 01:08 (nineteen years ago)

i can't take sides on thai and indian cos they are both my favorite. hower i am lactarded so i prefer thai curries cos they only use coconut milk and indian ones usually have yogurt. and i can't eat paneer. lovve love love indian though.

back to carhartts for a minute, i will concede that it is hard to find ones for skinny guys which i learned last year when trynig to buy present for ex-bf. they are hottest of workpants though.

bell labs (bell_labs), Sunday, 8 October 2006 01:12 (nineteen years ago)

ANY MORE TS QUESTIONS YOU NEED SETTLED V-MAN????????

am0n (am0n), Sunday, 8 October 2006 02:27 (nineteen years ago)

carhartts are way hot. on the right dude.

I worked in Antartica for 5 months and at the ship-out base in NZ we were issued all-carhartt work clothes: pants, overalls, jackets, hats, shirts, etc. My jacket had a faded line drawing of flames on the back. Damn do I wish I'd kept it (The company claimed they'd charge us for missing clothes).

I can't tell you how many girls there said almost the exact same thing: "I never knew I was attracted to guys in carhartts, but wow, those overalls are hot." Sure, girl.

And:

Thai. Way less likely to give a dude the trots.

jelky (jergins), Sunday, 8 October 2006 02:52 (nineteen years ago)

is there no woolrich love? they always sell that stuff at armynavy stores near the carhartt stuff. but maybe that is encroaching on ll bean territory.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 8 October 2006 03:36 (nineteen years ago)

i must say, my dickies workpants are invincible. i've had them for years and they are still rocking.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 8 October 2006 03:37 (nineteen years ago)

my work clothes are wearguard/aramark blue pants and blue shirts. they are also indestructible. i am way custodial. i have lots of keys to prove it.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 8 October 2006 03:39 (nineteen years ago)

woolrich!

i am looking for a plain black plaid wool shirt right now.

ice cube style w/ my raiders hat and dickies pants.

rrrobyn, the situation (rrrobyn), Sunday, 8 October 2006 07:02 (nineteen years ago)

as good as thai is, indian is too awesome

rrrobyn, the situation (rrrobyn), Sunday, 8 October 2006 07:04 (nineteen years ago)

choosing between thai and indian is kinda like splitting a baby in half or something. a baby that you really like! hmmm, i refuse to choose. no, indian food is godlike. but great thai food can be so friggin' sublime, where you eat it and good health just radiates from you and all you can say is "ahhhhhhhhh". on the other hand, i've had bad thai that just reminded me of bad chinese food and was too sweet and goopy and american, but i've had bad indian (mostly of the lunchtime buffet variety) that made me want to crawl into a hole and die and feel like my intestines were gonna strangle me (when clarified butter goes bad). but, man, i don't even care about that, i would give my left arm and a half a baby for some indian food right about now. or some ethiopian food. or some vietnam action. mmmm, there was a vietnamese place in philly that i wanted to live in. it made me proud to be a human. sorry, living on fish & chip island can drive you a little crazy. there is a thai place here now thank god. their seafood noodle soup is awesome.

scott seward (scott seward), Sunday, 8 October 2006 10:07 (nineteen years ago)

it's THAI for me. the spices and multi-layered flavors of INDIAN food are rad but all that butter is a no-go for my stomach. plus I ate too much cheap INDIAN on NYC's east 6th street during the 80s.

I've tried a couple recipes for tandoori-style chicken and they're not bad but taste nothing like the real deal. Need a tandoori oven.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

Oh man. Rockabilly for style points ALL THE WAY.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

I am totally going to get piled on, now. (XP)

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

style points? we're talking about people who wear suspenders over t-shirts and paint flames on the sides of their doc martens

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:19 (nineteen years ago)

nu-noize is all about style

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:22 (nineteen years ago)

(XP) And I'm okay with all that! Largely because...plain, close-fitting white Tshirts OMG.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:23 (nineteen years ago)

ALSO SIDEBURNS.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:31 (nineteen years ago)

Oh yeah.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:31 (nineteen years ago)

ALSO, GREASY HANDS. Any grease. Automotive, bike...evidence of Work Being Done.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:32 (nineteen years ago)

Also, I think the suspenders thing is crossing over into Skinhead territory, but that's okay becaues Rockabilly is the Skinhead retirement plan.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:33 (nineteen years ago)

Hippies have sideburns and greasy hands too.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:47 (nineteen years ago)

i am down w/ a plain white t-shirt if it has a polo horse on it

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:48 (nineteen years ago)

psychobilly chix are usually fat or have big noses

chaki (chaki), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:52 (nineteen years ago)

I cannot visualize the polo horse...unless you mean Izod-style polo shirt? Because let me tell you, few things are as tempting as a freshly showered man in a clean white undershirt. V-neck slightly preferred but by that point I'm not really seeing the details.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:52 (nineteen years ago)

mmmmm

sometimes my entire life be like DAMNNN! (tehresa), Monday, 9 October 2006 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

no no

it's a plain white t-shirt w/ a tiny embroidered ralph lauren horse at the bottom left

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:05 (nineteen years ago)

or at the breast

they are cut nicely

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

i prefer the one w/o the pocket. it has the horse at the bottom left, near the hem.

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

what i deal with on a daily basis:

the etenrnal struggle of SURFER vs PREPPY

HUNTA-V (vahid), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:07 (nineteen years ago)

Gah, I HATE v-necks. I used to love them, but only to show off hippy-esque blown glass jewelry (made by girl I like, worn for same reason).

got yourself a fish biscuit! (nickalicious), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:07 (nineteen years ago)

i pretty much wear v-necks every day

gbx (skowly), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:08 (nineteen years ago)

Ew. Was it strung on hemp or a raw leather cord? (XP)

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

Some fancy dancy hemp braid. I really liked her though.

got yourself a fish biscuit! (nickalicious), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:14 (nineteen years ago)

i should hope so!

sometimes my entire life be like DAMNNN! (tehresa), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:14 (nineteen years ago)

which reminds me of a taking sides I thought of this weekend while talking to my dad (that doesn't really deserve it's own thread):

TS: "the one that got away" the boy/girl vs "the one that got away" the fish

got yourself a fish biscuit! (nickalicious), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:15 (nineteen years ago)

You'd pretty much have to. (XXP!)

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:15 (nineteen years ago)

hahaha that's an awesome ts!

sometimes my entire life be like DAMNNN! (tehresa), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:16 (nineteen years ago)

I'm going with the fish.

Jessie the Monster (scarymonsterrr), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:17 (nineteen years ago)

Fish = less dinner. Boy/grill = more broek harte. Fish wins.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 9 October 2006 19:20 (nineteen years ago)

I have had my heart broken by a fish that got away. It was a 3+ foot sea bass, I was 14.
