I just love cheeseburgers. I got this book for Christmas and read it in 5 days. Just fun stuff- hamburger lore. If you're not a big burger fan go watch Oprah, but if you are this is a fun book!

actually the place i ate, tavern on the dean, was recommended by someone here, i think? but not nec. for the fried chicken.

I like the Tavern for general pub/bistro food, bell, but never tried their chix. Basically four years ago it was the only non-island place to eat on Dean Street even though it was sort of far from me. MEMORIES, ALL ALONE IN THE STREETLIGHT

yeah i think i blew it ordering the fried chicken. ian got a pulled pork sandwich that was terrible too. we really just wanted pies n thighs, but it was closed!

The place I'm moving to this month is near two of the best fried chicken places in town, I'm gonna get mmm mmm fatty.

it was me, and it was the jerk chicken wings they have there. killer.
yeah i've heard mixed reactions on the menu but the other time i ate there i had a $10 brunch of biscuits, bacon, eggs, and a flintstone sized brontosaurus pork chop.

also had dirty bird fried chicken two weeks ago and that place gets the gasface

i haven't fried chicken at home since i moved into this house, i have one of those flat top electric ranges that never gets hot enough. my poor neglected skillet.

i fry chicken at work though pretty much every day.

you'd think daily access to near endless amounts of fried chicken would have led to me gaining weight rather than losing it but i guess there's something to be said for sweating constantly for at least 6 hours a day.

a friend and i split one AMAZING bowl of fried chicken between us on sat nite. thinking back, i shoulda had those last two pieces that were left in the bowl!

god rip pies n thighs indeed! i'm kinda glad it didn't come back before i left so i wouldn't feel like i was missing out.

finally got around to trying Mitchell's on Vanderbilt. This is some seriously high quality fried chicken my friends. Green beans side was pretty weaksauce, but mac n cheese was good, chicken is stellar. Crispy, juicy, peppery, fried fresh when u order. mmmmmmmm.

^^^ shit was so good I'm going again. this time gonna try the collards. forgot to mention also that the born bread totaly rules.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm. mitchell's also has GREAT lemonade. i judge fried chicken on how quickly it sends me scrambling for a nap on the couch.
