dan - the 12C? yeah my dad had one too! still classic if you are down with the reverse polish

bell labs (bell_labs), Thursday, 8 February 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

the notation of TVM was the biggest hurdle there. after that it was a breeze. note that you can't solve for IRR without doing iterative calculations; shit is never, ever worth the effort.

rrrobyn, breeze blown meadow of cheeriness (rrrobyn), Thursday, 8 February 2007 17:46 (eighteen years ago)

Not necessarily in the JVM

I've written a compiler for the JVM dude. Anyway, there's cases where multiple code branches could assign to it and all kinds of stuff.

Charmmy Kitty's Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (ex machina), Thursday, 8 February 2007 17:48 (eighteen years ago)

Then you'll know that finals are marked with ACC_FINAL, so it should be a case of setting ACC_WILL_BE_FINAL but not ACC_FINAL until the VM first deals with it, at which point ACC_FINAL can be set.

you win again, gravity! (tissp), Thursday, 8 February 2007 17:50 (eighteen years ago)

(by which I mean when the first putfield occurs)

you win again, gravity! (tissp), Thursday, 8 February 2007 17:51 (eighteen years ago)

(admittedly that sort of skirts round the multiple branches issue, but I think it holds up)

you win again, gravity! (tissp), Thursday, 8 February 2007 17:52 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think I ever played with final variables, but I think you're just making ACC_WILL_BE_FINAL up. Handling the multiple branch thing is going to bloat the code and its not really for a good reason.

What are you using to do this? I used http://jakarta.apache.org/bcel/ back in like 2003? :/
