i mean this...

catwon (catwon), Monday, 22 January 2007 17:32 (eighteen years ago)

"Signal" is really awesome...

UART variations (ex machina), Monday, 22 January 2007 17:50 (eighteen years ago)

s/t totally doesn't remind me of Excepter. the first song actually seems like Mu before Mu

as for other stuff, see her in Novo Tono, which is kind of an avant-pop/prog record, maybe similar to After Dinner (but not as cool production) or Ground Zero (more pop). She also sings on the Yoshihide disc Dreams, and this is also similar to Novo Tono.

She's in a band called MOST w/Seiichi Yamamoto, which is mostly punk -- as is Aunt Sally

Dominique (dleone), Monday, 22 January 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

I dunno about that Mu comparison

UART variations (ex machina), Monday, 22 January 2007 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

can you guys just like music for what it is and ignore the associations between 'this and that'. i'm sure it sounds like everything there ever was.

catwon (catwon), Monday, 22 January 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

I mainly just like the s/t, for the Czukay / Liebzeit / Plank workouts. when I saw Czukay do his psuedo-live-psuedo-dj set in 2004, he played 'Signal' intact and sang additional lyrics & noises over the top (he also played 'Biomutanten')

There's also this synthy 2-track she did with Ryuichi Sakamoto which is funereal & dirgey, but good: http://www.japanimprov.com/indies/pass/finale.html

milton parker (Jon L), Monday, 22 January 2007 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

milton parker (Jon L), Monday, 22 January 2007 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

Not really, I don't know anything about noise or Lightning Bolt/the Boredoms/anything Japanese and I just ignore what I don't "get".
