jaxon (jaxon), Monday, 29 January 2007 07:50 (eighteen years ago)

I had a plain black Stussy logo on white shirt, a "Big Ass Gear" shirt, and "Stussy: Like Butta"

A-ron Hubbard (Hurting), Monday, 29 January 2007 07:52 (eighteen years ago)

Jaxon, when you were 5 years old?

acid waffle house (dubplatestyle), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:28 (eighteen years ago)

i never had any stussy stuff probably because when it was popular i was in my "same pair of jeans and t-shirt every day" phase

cutty (mcutt), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:52 (eighteen years ago)

one of my many fashion regrets: never having bought any stussy. i also regret never had these kid sandals. I can't find a pic online, most probably because they would crack the web as they are so ghastly. All my friends (who had unfashionable parents) had'em. My mother refused to buy'em (thank the lord!).

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Monday, 29 January 2007 13:54 (eighteen years ago)

i wore an old OP t shirt one day and my gf threw a fit

Interestingly enough I wore an old ass brown and black striped stussy sweater out to lunch with jax0n last week. it is the only stussy thing i have. it's at least 10 years old, maybe 15.

the art of pretend non-lawyering. (tehresa), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 00:11 (eighteen years ago)

ha. thanks.

is there a reason one should feel bad for owning stussy?

jaxon (jaxon), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 00:46 (eighteen years ago)

i didn't say you should feel bad... for some reason i just thought of you.

the art of pretend non-lawyering. (tehresa), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 01:05 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't skate, and I was a poser. Eventually I figured out what a poser was and stopped wearing that kind of stuff. By then they were selling Stussy at Nordstrom's.

A-ron Hubbard (Hurting), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 07:00 (eighteen years ago)

i counted today:

3 t-shirts
13 button down shirts
1 sweater
2 puffy down jackets
1 raincoat
1 bomber jacket
1 m-65 jacket
1 harrington jacket
2 pairs of sneakers

not all-time ubernerd status, but getting there

vahid (vahid), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 07:24 (eighteen years ago)

13 buttn=ondowns and not ubernerd?!

the art of pretend non-lawyering. (tehresa), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 08:00 (eighteen years ago)

vahid (vahid), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 08:03 (eighteen years ago)

yeah apparently i am uberdrunk because i can't properly type 'buttondowns' so who's the lame one now?!

i also have 2 stussy wallets. my keys are on a stussy carabiner

vahid (vahid), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

my brother had lotsa stussy shit.

he was heavily into skating for like 4 years before he jocked out and went into the National Guard and i made a "documentary" about him and his buddy set to poorly synced misfits, DK's, and minor threat songs. i think the tape's lost, otherwise 'd put it on youtube or something. funny shit, especially my crappy editing!

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 19:18 (eighteen years ago)

(said "documentary" was a project made for my film class at fine arts center here in greenville, sc where Tehresa also went [not same class though]!)

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

what's all this about skating? stussy was a surf brand to begin with, shawn stussy was a board shaper.

vahid (vahid), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

there's a very very fine line between "surf" and "skate" wear that probably nobody outside of the santa barbara / tijuana corridor will catch.

vahid (vahid), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

x-post

all that shit blurs together outside ca there's not much of a "surf culture" in the landlocked suburbs lol

http://image.allmusic.com/00/adg/cov200/drt200/t268/t26803h5jzj.jpg

In this youthful surfing adventure, a hot young surfer wins a wave-tank contest in his native Arizona and decides to temporarily abandon his studies to hit the fantastic waves of the Hawaiian North shore pipeline. Once there, he is derided by the other surfers because nobody believes that a boy from the desert could possibly know anything about surfing real waves. Fortunately, an aging hippie (and supremo surfer), who designs boards for a living, believes in him and so teaches him the ropes. While learning about the sea and preparing for an international surfing competition, the boy also learns valuable lessons about life and love.

used to have stussy sunglasses that were basically off-brand wayfarers ... they were branded but the logo was black on black. I think that's all? maybe a t-shirt or two.
