I always used to get really high before I went to hardcore shows. Or drunk. I think I was always kind of a hippy punk. (except, you know, i would never actually go to a fuckin' phish concert. i'd rather be pummelled by tiny midget musclebound straightedge kidz then go to a phish concert.)

I saw Phish when they played live on David Letterman about a month ago, except they played outside the studio to a crowd on the street. I kinda liked it! That was the first Phish I'd ever heard. The singer really does try to sound like Jerry though.

fuck a jim rome. true story (and milton probably already knows the first part):

i have 2 friends (for the record's sake: BS and DM). between their sets at kcsb (about 15 years ago) was the news/weather half hour. the newscaster/weatherman was none other than Jimmy Rome.

one time (about 11-12 years ago) we were driving up to SF from LA and BS and DM were arguing over whether they were gonna listen to "the smackdown" (6-8 hours(?) of jim rome taking on his listeners or something or the other) on the way up and BS said no way. DM said "fine, i'll just drive by myself". so we caravanned up to SF, i remember BS playing some roky erikson bootlegs, carter family, and HEAVY OAKLAND PSYCH.

For the record: BS now loves jim rome and DM hates him.
