facts

1) i have four job

2) at job #1 i get paid ~ 6x job #2 hourly wage

3) job #1 is 7 am - 2 pm daily

4) job #3 starts at 6 pm, usually goes to 8, happens 3 times weekly, pays 2x - 4x job #2 hourly

5) i am going insane from working job #2, which is 2 pm - 5 pm daily. no time to eat, not time to breathe, no time to catch up on logistical shit from job #1.

6) job #2 is public service work. also i am only qualified person at job #2, without me vital functions go unfulfilled.

7) supervisor at job #2 wrote very excellent letter of recommendation which helped get me into school. i fear that it's tacky to quit right after hearing from school.

8) job #1 and job #2 are at same site, so i can't just quit + hide.

to make life even worse, job #4 goes from 1-7 pm on sundays. no rest for the weary.

job #2 is the most time-inconvenient and the lowest paying.

job #2 is also the most noble and also the most needy. and i've been there for 1.5 years and i promised i'd stay until june.

you can't quit job #3 or #4?

beyond that, um.. I don't really advocate putting noble/needy job ahead of your health and well being. there are other people who could do that job, i'm sure. is it hard to find them to handle these vital function? probably because the pay is so bad. if they really wanted to keep you, they'd find a way to pay you better. no, you can't quit job #2 and hide - quit job #2 because the pay is terrible and the hours are too long!

HEY MON, YOU ONLY HAVE FOUR JOB?

nickalicious, Monday, 5 March 2007 14:51 (nineteen years ago)

I'm a little amazed how impossible it is to find a pic from that skit.

"Hey Mon," the ongoing saga of a West Indian family named the Hedleys

are you really going to hate yourself for more than about a day if you just up and quit job #2?
answer is no. It's driving you insane. 24 hours without having to do job #2 will have you in no-regrets mode, easily.
How do you quit? You tell yr supe you can't do it anymore and you quit. They say why not you say because it's killing me to work this hard for these peanuts, my morale is in the toilet. two weeks. g'bye.

OMG I had so totally forgotten the Hedleys: gearing up now for disappointment of Youtube not containing the Hedleys-on-an-airplane one.

jhøshea, Monday, 5 March 2007 18:59 (nineteen years ago)

assure sure

jhøshea, Monday, 5 March 2007 18:59 (nineteen years ago)

i think the fact that you have to ask how to quit a low-paying job that you despise explains why you have four

^@^, Monday, 5 March 2007 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

i don't despise it. i just happened to get two much better jobs, and didn't want to leave, but the pressure of working all 4 jobs is starting to kill me.

i work with kids, and i am afraid the kids feelers will be hurt if i leave

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 5 March 2007 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

yeah but you don't need to see them again. dump + run!

remy bean, Monday, 5 March 2007 20:29 (nineteen years ago)

The kids have feelers = RUN AWAY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE

JW, Tuesday, 6 March 2007 05:55 (nineteen years ago)

interesting thing w/ job #4

got an offer today to switch my job up - from current position to person who trains and evaluates people for this job.

interesting, probably much more fun, but its going to take something like 60 hrs of weekends to train for it. also there are tests and stuff before i can start.

probably going to pass on that and quit #4 too, at some point.
