sanskrit, Wednesday, 7 March 2007 03:32 (eighteen years ago)

shocker horn lines are hopefully on their way...

noizez duk, Wednesday, 7 March 2007 03:47 (eighteen years ago)

should've sold my 12" when I could've got value. SoulJazz reish probably has cheapened things...

Hell of a track though. "Holland Tunnel" that is. "On Broadway" much less so..

Stormy Davis, Wednesday, 7 March 2007 04:08 (eighteen years ago)

shit yeah iMpLOG
sea creatures (and all of NYnoise3 rules)
My question is:
which is "The Other Side," NYC or Jersey??

sexyDancer, Wednesday, 7 March 2007 05:10 (eighteen years ago)

I PUT "HOLLAND TUNNEL DIVE" ON A CRUSH MIX FOR A GUY AND I GOT THE GUY

I helped n1ck sylv3st3r out of a jam last night after his laptop crashed in the middle of a dj gig. I put my ipod on random and the first song on was "Holland Tunnel Drive" and within seconds of the vacuum part coming on, girls were begging me to turn it off.

Brendan Green played HTD at the old Halcyon once. It was awesome.

dan selzer, Friday, 16 March 2007 17:07 (eighteen years ago)

like, right up in my face, "THIS IS SCARING ME, PLEASE STOP" and I was like, "You're afraid of a vacuum cleaner? This is nothing, sweetheart. Let's get into some of the real shit." Then n1ck returned with a laptop fulla indie rock to save the day.

sexyDancer, Friday, 16 March 2007 17:07 (eighteen years ago)

hahahahahahaaaa, where was that?

HTD is so damned great

bb, Friday, 16 March 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

whatever used to be Plant bar.

sexyDancer, Friday, 16 March 2007 18:32 (eighteen years ago)

its been ubiquitous for a number of years, its sort of the new warm leatherette or tainted love. i remember eric rubntug played it at that place fun, like twice a night, about 6(!) years ago. russ blues control played it before our jam at the woodser like 2 1/2 years ago.
i feel like i hear it everywhere, particularly with dj's between shows

noizez duk, Friday, 16 March 2007 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

I first heard it from Sp3ncer Sw33ny who plopped it down on my tables one lonely DJ nite in the dark times following 9/11.

sexyDancer, Friday, 16 March 2007 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

sexyDancer, Friday, 16 March 2007 20:30 (eighteen years ago)

me and 4v3y t4r3 had a funny time at the old hole, looking for a nonexistent techno nite n4th4n corb1n had told me about.
that was before the new hole, which has moved to the old cock. *rimshot*
i'll be here all nite folks

noizez duk, Friday, 16 March 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

sexyDancer, Friday, 16 March 2007 20:34 (eighteen years ago)

bell_labs, Friday, 16 March 2007 20:35 (eighteen years ago)

HAHA, me and sexy were there, whatever it is now, just the other nite. i am not sure if he remembers it tho hahah

noizez duk, Friday, 16 March 2007 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

Ah the days when you could roll around in broken glass on the floor of the Squeezebox with another man of your gender without having your aesthetics evaluated by extras from that failed Whit Stilman TV pilot.

sexyDancer, Friday, 16 March 2007 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

xpost: same bartender!
(I only don't remember the last 3 tequilas)

sexyDancer, Friday, 16 March 2007 20:39 (eighteen years ago)

every time I went to the hole it was Mojo or Gibby playing Fugazi records or something. Then somebody played Metro Area. That place was horrible but there was a few weeks where everybody was going there and everyone was suprised everyone else was there and then you were like wait, why did I go there? Maybe that was just me because I don't do the drugs.

dan selzer, Friday, 16 March 2007 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

six years pass...

The Day the Infant Internet Uttered its First Words

Below is a record of the first message ever sent over the ARPANET. It took place at 22:30 hours on October 29, 1969. This record is an excerpt from the "IMP Log" that was kept at UCLA. Professor Kleinrock was supervising his student/programmer Charley Kline (CSK) and they set up a message transmission to go from the UCLA SDS Sigma 7 Host computer to another programmer, Bill Duvall, at the SRI SDS 940 Host computer. The transmission itself was simply to "login" to SRI from UCLA. They succeeded in transmitting the "l" and the "o" and then the system crashed! Hence, the first message on the Internet was "lo", as in "lo and behold! They were able to do the full login about an hour later.

Here is a scan of the cover of the UCLA IMP LOG in which the above entry was made:
