I was once at a party and met someone who introduced herself as "Jamison" -- whether that was her real first name or not, I'm sure I don't know -- but it was so obviously pretentious that my friend (HI DERE ANTEXIT) completely fraudulently introduced himself as "Powers" in response. I don't remember if anyone there batted an eyelash, so I'm not sure whether anyone got it.

i'm not a fan of powers, it's a little.... smokier maybe? woodier? i like jameson, it's crisp and it's smooth until it starts to burn the lower half of my esophagus.

see, thats wrong. never shop there again. unless theyre selling the jameson real cheap to begin with. when im in saratoga i can get a liter of powers for 16-18 bucks as opposed to 25-28 for jameson. in brklyn you only save like 4 bucks...also i have noticed certain bars charging the 7-9 bucks for a glass at the bar, the same as they would jameson. which is horsepoop. (though powers is 3 or 4 bucks at the magician at happy hour. 6 bucks at the pencil factory at regular times...the appropriate step down from the foolishly "top shelf" price of jameson)...powers is the most popular whiskey in the country of origin, im told.

yeah, the liquor store i went to was located next to a whole foods market, i shoulda known, but luckily it's not the most expensive liquor store in town. i'll check around some of the divier ones.

jameson usually runs me $5 by the glass at most local watering holes, i'd be a little surprised if powers went for much less.
