am0n, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

i miss cable

jergincito, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

the concept of the show so far: "intervention doesn't work"

am0n, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:46 (eighteen years ago)

let them do meth!

jergincito, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)

good lord i need cable

strongohulkington, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)

i mean, thank god i don't have cable

strongohulkington, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)

i mean, good lord i need cable

strongohulkington, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)

seems like they're showing a marathon of it today. how am i supposed to get anything done now, i'm hooked! someone intervene in my tv viewing habits

am0n, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:48 (eighteen years ago)

you need an "Intervention" intervention?

Mr. Que, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

do they shed their clothes reallyfast

m coleman, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

i knew it was time to get rid of cable after that summer where i spent an entire day watching "i love the 90s."

strongohulkington, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:52 (eighteen years ago)

self-intervention on that one

strongohulkington, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

cable is free in this city

am0n, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:56 (eighteen years ago)

i refuse to believe this lie

strongohulkington, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

it's only "free" until i'm back to watching 9 hours of laguna beach

strongohulkington, Saturday, 10 March 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

film crew rides along with girls on a drug buy, crack smoking in car followed by heroin ;)

am0n, Saturday, 10 March 2007 20:23 (eighteen years ago)

do they shed their clothes reallyfast

no, just extra twitching and stopping for the occasional neck crack

Edward III, Saturday, 10 March 2007 20:48 (eighteen years ago)

my favorite episode is the one where the band producer smokes too much crack and runs into the forest where he takes refuge in a drain pipe. the producers have to talk him out of it. pretty great.

jeff van vonderen is a god.

if anyone can point me to a better selection of intervention torrents than is available at torr3ntspy or is0hunt, i would love that.

jeff, Saturday, 10 March 2007 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

i hope there's a pot episode.

hang on theres a film crew at my door, brb

am0n, Saturday, 10 March 2007 22:16 (eighteen years ago)

i love this show.

g®▲Ðұ, Saturday, 10 March 2007 22:34 (eighteen years ago)

did you guys see the hotty with the cutting problem?

chaki, Saturday, 10 March 2007 22:52 (eighteen years ago)

no, they only showed 3
meth addict stripper (failed)
wino housewife (failed)
heroin addict girl gym teacher (lol) (success)

i think they were more interested in getting nude footage of the meth addict stripper in her pig sty abode (success) than they were in helping her

am0n, Saturday, 10 March 2007 23:08 (eighteen years ago)

there was one with the guy from DAYS OF THE NEW and another one with this hottiechick from er

chaki, Saturday, 10 March 2007 23:35 (eighteen years ago)

i liked the gutterpunk/homeless-with-a-cell-phone alcoholic kid ep.

g®▲Ðұ, Sunday, 11 March 2007 02:53 (eighteen years ago)

nine months pass...

marathon today

gr8080, Monday, 31 December 2007 23:45 (eighteen years ago)

god I'm watching this right now it is destroying me!

horseshoe, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:17 (eighteen years ago)

is the former white house intern one on there?

gr8080, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:22 (eighteen years ago)

no it's this ex Mormon gay ballroom dancer/meth addict. :( he's adorable.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:24 (eighteen years ago)

ugh ive seen that one.

isnt that the same ep as bulemic mom who hides her vomit in freezer bags around the house?

gr8080, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

oh sweet now i have plans for tonight.

wanko ergo sum, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

hides her vomit in freezer bags around the house?

worst impulse ebay purchase ever

latebloomer, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

wowowowowow

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:42 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, it is the same one. I keep having to get up and walk away when she purges. I'm amazed anyone could stand to film it.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

that might be the best episode.

so heavy.

gr8080, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

i like the episodes when the family members subconsciously try to sabotage the intervention.

gr8080, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 00:55 (eighteen years ago)

oh god Troy (ex Mormon meth addict) found out he was HIV+ :( :( :(

horseshoe, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 01:00 (eighteen years ago)

after singing the praises of this episode^^^ i turned the TV off as soon as it came on. :-\\\

gr8080, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 03:21 (eighteen years ago)

I can't watch this shit at all. I tried to watch the one about the musician who was smoking crack in the bathroom of the studio where he was producing his fiancee's debut album or whatever and I couldn't even deal with that. I think I just lack the level of optimism required to believe that anything can save these people

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 1 January 2008 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

why do the intervention mediators seem like such smarmy cunts?

why dont more people run when they realize whats up?

sunny successor, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 17:36 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, i wonder that too. it seems like they bide their time and then run once they've been taken to the facility, though. the success rate doesn't seem to be very high.

lauren, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 17:46 (eighteen years ago)

I went to a 45-day, $30,000 rehab and if pressed they will disclose their success rate, defined as grads who have remained sober a full year after completing treatment, at 4%.

wanko ergo sum, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

this show is so intense. i watched it w/my recovering alcoholic dad who weirdly tried to tell me war stories to try and compete w/the people on tv.

artdamages, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

worst part of this show is all the bitch-ass enablers

am0n, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:32 (eighteen years ago)

it would be boring w/o the enablers.

gr8080, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

like the mother who gave her son money and drove him to the house where he bought/shot up oxycontin - wtf!

lauren, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:46 (eighteen years ago)

two months pass...

violin-playing junkie/cokehead could be cuet if not for the sores and whoring

milo z, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 02:07 (seventeen years ago)

five months pass...

inhalant addicted anorexic zombie chick on last night's episode is going to be haunting my dreams. she was like frank booth or some shit. "WAAAAAAHHHH... I NEEDED A MOM.... (HUUUUFFFF)....WAAAHHHH...."

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Tuesday, 12 August 2008 14:32 (seventeen years ago)

i was just talking about this with a coworker. i didn't see the whole thing. does it really count as an intervention when the cops come and make you go?

carne asada, Tuesday, 12 August 2008 14:38 (seventeen years ago)

cops have come on a few of em

usually it's when people have charges looming and the choice is rehab or jail

dmr, Tuesday, 12 August 2008 14:44 (seventeen years ago)

they took her because she was a suicide risk, then i think van vonderen and her family made it clear she wouldn't be coasting anymore and she took rehab. also, they took her cats.

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Tuesday, 12 August 2008 14:47 (seventeen years ago)

van vonderen don't fuck around. I want him to come and yell at me when I'm slacking off about stuff.

the wife and I always try to guess how if and for how long they're sober when the final recap comes up and are always, always totally wrong.

joygoat, Tuesday, 12 August 2008 14:52 (seventeen years ago)

i got bored of this after i watched a few episodes. but i did see the guy in the drainpipe. i think he ruined the show for me because he was so annoying and whiny and his girlfriend was a morong. he wrote a song for her in rehab and it was terrible.

harbl, Tuesday, 12 August 2008 15:01 (seventeen years ago)

I liked the kid who was addicted to DXM and just walked around weaving his head all day even when not high.

Abbott, Saturday, 16 August 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

yeah but that was all she needed to hit "rock bottom" and get into treatment

Oh man I can't believe I forgot to update this thread! Found out a couple weeks ago that a good friend of mine knows "Walkin on Sunshine" Alsion's sister. Supposedly she's in the episode but I can't remember her because it's been so long. She is apparently completely nuts and twitches a lot. Also, her name is Erica.
