elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:20 (eighteen years ago)

If I had a bear shaped blood bag I would fill that shit with Vitamin Water and wear it like bling bling bling

Taking Cuddlestein Mountain by Strategy, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:22 (eighteen years ago)

god I love vitamin water.

jessie monster, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

I made vitamin water freezepops a few weeks ago. the best ones are the Balance flavor (cran-grapefruit) followed by Revive (fruitpunch).

Steve Shasta, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:40 (eighteen years ago)

I really want that

Taking Cuddlestein Mountain by Strategy, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:41 (eighteen years ago)

i don't "get" vitamin water

ghost rider, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:41 (eighteen years ago)

vitamin water is chic gatorade and also a fucking scam

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

haha thanks elmo

ghost rider, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

i looked at it as a mineral enriched kool aid.

chicago kevin, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:43 (eighteen years ago)

I think it tastes better than gatorade.

jessie monster, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:43 (eighteen years ago)

fructose = it's not "water" anymore

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:43 (eighteen years ago)

suddenly it's not 2 parts hydrogen/one part oxygen?

chicago kevin, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

SOFT DRINKS =/= WATER

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

ALSO, SUN TO RISE IN EAST TOMORROW.

chicago kevin, Monday, 12 March 2007 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not saying Vitamin Water doesn't CONTAIN water.

I'm saying suckers think they're being all healthy while they might as well be drinking a fucking Pepsi.

pepsi + centrum, surely

sleep, Monday, 12 March 2007 21:19 (eighteen years ago)

GBX to post about how gatorade is hyper (hypo?) tonic and vitamin water ain't

Taking Cuddlestein Mountain by Strategy, Monday, 12 March 2007 21:23 (eighteen years ago)

I can kinda see what Elmo is saying about Vitamin Water being loaded with sugar but just to stick to facts:

16oz of Vitamin Water contains 26g of sugar (crystallized fructose)
16 oz. of Pepsi contains 55g of sugar (high-fructose corn syrup)

16oz of Vitamin Water contains 100 Calories.
16oz of Pepsi contains 205 Calories.

Vitamin Water contains Vitamin supplements.
Pepsi does not.

While it's not exactly the best thing to injest in large quantities, there is a huge difference in drinking an occasional Vitamin Water vs. drinking a Pepsi.

Steve Shasta, Monday, 12 March 2007 21:26 (eighteen years ago)

do not ingest in jest

sanskrit, Monday, 12 March 2007 21:29 (eighteen years ago)

GatorGum

In the late 1970's and early 1980's, Gatorade sold a brand of chewing gum called GatorGum. The product was manufactured by Fleer Corporation, was available in each of Gatorade's two original flavors (lemon-lime and orange) and was rather sour-tasting by normal chewing gum standards.

GatorGum's foil packaging advertised that the product "Helps Quench Thirst". Like all chewing gums, the product would not actually rehydrate the body on its own. However, it may have contained electrolytes to assist the human body with the rehydration process.

Shasta droppin science. Pepsi comparison not quite accurate, but still: H2O has 0g sugar, 0 calories.

elmo argonaut, Monday, 12 March 2007 21:33 (eighteen years ago)

I only drink this shit when hungover

Taking Cuddlestein Mountain by Strategy, Monday, 12 March 2007 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

it has a pretty minimal amt of vitamins, though, doesn't it?

lauren, Monday, 12 March 2007 21:48 (eighteen years ago)

* On April 5, 2006, Energy Brands Inc. filed a lawsuit against PepsiCo in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, alleging that PepsiCo's new SoBe LifeWater products confuse consumers by mimicking the distinctive packaging of its vitaminwater products, and that in addition the product itself is "a slavish knock-off" for "copying the product formulation, including the colored nature of the water, its ingredients, sweetener type and even its calorie content" [2]. The companies have since settled and PepsiCo has agreed to change the SoBe Life Water packaging. [3], [4]

lauren: the multi one (opaque lemon flavor) is the only one comparable to taking a solid vitamin tablet.

I like it better now than I used to.

Taking Cuddlestein Mountain by Strategy, Monday, 12 March 2007 22:56 (eighteen years ago)

It has since been determined by Dr. David Costil and other exercise physiologists that Gatorade is hypertonic ... more concentrated than body fluids ... which pulls fluids from the body into the stomach, resulting in temporary systemic dehydration and can cause muscle cramps in strenuous exercise.

river wolf, Monday, 12 March 2007 23:03 (eighteen years ago)

i always get sad when i look at the vitamin waters to find one with lots of vitamins in it and they all say like 25% rdv

tehresa, Monday, 12 March 2007 23:13 (eighteen years ago)

i haven't even looked at it again, but i get a little pukey just thinking about it.

still, how RAD is that???? i mean, that it can even HAPPEN?

(also, fwiw, my dad worked on a kid with a similar condition and basically they burn the stuff and then belt sand it off since it's a non-living layer....you sustain 2nd degree burns but then it should just grow back on its own as normal skin)
