Hi,

I'm selling a copy of the Stargate movie starring Kurt Russell and James Spader.

Now for a little background. Back in 1997 when I purchased my first DVD player, the technology was relatively new. Heck, there were actually format wars going on similar to today's HDDVD vs. BluRay. Back then it was DVD vs. DIVX. Well I decided to throw my support towards the DVD format and thank goodness I did. I've been blessed with spending way too much money on movies and players ever since. The first movie I purchased to play on my brand-spanking-new DVD player was "Stargate".

I was heady with excitement about this first movie of mine. I knew I loved the movie and watching it at home with the clarity of digital picture and sound would be great! So I popped it in and started to watch. Half-way through the movie, about the time Anubis attacks, the movie froze and stopped. What was this? Was my viewing enjoyment forever ruined? Would I have to return the disk to my beloved Tower Records.

A quick perusal of the DVD cover led to my enlightenment. This was the technologically advanced 2-SIDED version of the DVD. So much like in years long past when people had to flip their records, or years not so long past when people had to flip their laser-disks, this DVD required a flip. So I got off my duff, walked to the player, flipped the disk and enjoyed the second half of this very fine movie.

Now I must tell you that at that time I was fighting massive weight problems. I'm talking like 90-100 pounds overweight. Well, after watching this movie every night for a year, and walking what I determined to be about 15 feet to the DVD player and 15 feet back, I walked a total of 2.073 miles for the year. I lost nearly 3 and a quarter pounds!! I was well on my way to the visage of fitness I am today! (Your mileage may vary).

So that is my story. Since my unexpected fitness goals have been obtained. I am passing this very useful disk on to the next person. Could it be you? Let me know!

(Disclosure: most of the above story is apocryphal, the disk is in very good condition and has not been used that often)

Using the keepvid site I downloaded every episode on his youtube account and watch them whenever I need a pick-me-up. I really wish I could buy some DVDs but I don't think he can sell em cos it's public access. Most memorable episodes:
