He does, you know.

I'm listening to "Dedicated to Masami Akita" now. Beaulieau's stuff is the shit. Write your praises here.

RRRon is teh man. Sick jamz, awesome label/distro, and he's quite the showman.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Friday, 3 September 2004 20:26 (twenty years ago)

Last time I saw this fella he took noise to the max and got very frustrated because the sound dude would not crank it (even though it was already as far up as it could go). Also he appeared to be having a stroke/aneurysm amateuristism fuc at several pts.

thorHmono (Thor), Saturday, 4 September 2004 06:13 (twenty years ago)

omg I must see a concert by this man

That story reminds me of a Pan Sonic concert in Toronto a few years ago when they refused to perform because the sound wasn't loud enough. The wooden rafters in the club were shaking, but it still wasn't good enough.

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Saturday, 4 September 2004 19:30 (twenty years ago)

AGREED.

I'M NOT MAD AT HIM.

ddb (ddb), Saturday, 4 September 2004 23:14 (twenty years ago)

thorHmono (Thor), Thursday, 16 September 2004 02:30 (twenty years ago)

hahahaha THOOOOOORRRRRRRRRR

Ian c=====8 (orion), Thursday, 16 September 2004 02:31 (twenty years ago)

thorHmono you live in Lex?

I caught Emil and Crank Sturgeon and then split. It was funny to see all the sorority girls and frat dudes walk up "WTF IS TEH SHIT?! OMG HE HAS A FISH HEAD AND HOSE ON HIS PENIS>> WHAT IS TEH NOIZE?!!!!"

Dale the Panopticalist (cprek), Thursday, 16 September 2004 12:26 (twenty years ago)

FREE NOIZE? I am so jealous. Also, I hate you.

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Thursday, 16 September 2004 19:34 (twenty years ago)

YES I live in Lex. Who are you and what do you look like/or what is your appearance.

thorHmono (Thor), Friday, 17 September 2004 03:42 (twenty years ago)

Also do you know Amir

thorHmono (Thor), Friday, 17 September 2004 03:44 (twenty years ago)

Yeah I know Amir. I worked at WRFL for 6 years and I think either he (or possbily Ravi?) took over my Sat 3-6 slot when I retired this past summer. Either way I've listened to his show on Sat or Sun afternoon. He is my myspace friend.

Ian c=====8 (orion), Monday, 27 September 2004 22:17 (twenty years ago)

YES Exactly!

Mondo vs Squeezit (Thor), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 00:06 (twenty years ago)

coucou noise. there's a emil beaulieu video documentary at the bottom of this page
http://www.brainwashed.com/eye/

Sébastien Chikara (Sébastien Chikara), Friday, 8 October 2004 04:43 (twenty years ago)

That's a good link!

Dale Panopticalis (cprek), Friday, 8 October 2004 16:18 (twenty years ago)

I also watched the docu on wolf eyes and black dice. I think it adds to the appreciation of the music to see the people who are making it, hear em answer some questions, bs etc
the emil beaulieu show is in an hour, it'll be my first noise show since 2000 I think.

Sébastien Chikara (Sébastien Chikara), Friday, 8 October 2004 23:29 (twenty years ago)

let us knowwhat you THINK!

Helios Creed (orion), Saturday, 9 October 2004 01:33 (twenty years ago)

for no good reason I thought american noise compositions were not saturated enough to my liking but that was not the case here. he made 3 pieces that were called something like
*you look beautiful tonite
*I love what you did with your hairs
*what are you doing after the show?
all had as multiple layers of grime as it gets. I liked the cohabitation with cabaret humour; I've seen it as another way to free the sound from easy meanings that people could be tempted to put into it. I was the only one who was moving in the audience, it seems? Anyway, great fun.

Sébastien Chikara (Sébastien Chikara), Saturday, 9 October 2004 16:00 (twenty years ago)

The first time I saw him he called one number "If I Had a Laptop All My Shit Would Suck."

I dig his brand of grating, thumpin noise. Wolf Eyes also played at that show, so there was no pussy noize that night.

Mondo vs Squeezit (Thor), Saturday, 9 October 2004 16:55 (twenty years ago)

Whoa, I'll have to go through all those docs too.
Emil still rules it.
