In elementary school we had "Specials" -- segments of the day where we'd go to the Gym, Library, Computer Lab, etc. Well I wish I could remember the software we used in the computer class. Each time we went it was a different journey. All kinds of math, reading, problem-solving, everything, and each time you had a special character to guide you along. You even typed in your name at the beginning so that it could "talk" to you! Of course 7-yr-old hackers like me caught on and realized you could type weird and naughty things in for comedic effect.

yeah in oregon trail my brother and i always named the characters poop and butt and beth-breath, and it would say stuff like "Poop has died of dysentery." and we'd sit in the living room roffling our lungs out as the sad funeral song played "doo doo dooooooooooo dodo dooooooo dooooo"

in computer lab we had one of those programs that spoke out every thing you typed with that computer voice. so of course all i did with that was type 'shit' and 'poop' and listen with the headphones and chuckle to myself.

I think I have a strange crush on Mavis Beacon. I love the way she gently corrects my fingering.
