i'm still making the same mistakes and finding myself more and more willing to stay on the canvas for another couple of seconds rather than get up and get knocked down again.

I am getting unusually self-contained and determined and impatient with obstacles/people to a point where I sort of wonder what happened. I think it will ebb and flow, though, so I'm disinclined to worry.

this thread is "fitter happier" after a couple of spins around the block

actually, i'm not getting stupider, i'm just not getting any smarter and that's the problem. i think i'm more self-aware and, frankly, kind of horrified. IGNORANCE IS BLISS BABY.

I'm a father now, so my humor is definitely retarding itself like the last half of "Flowers for Algernon". I'm using more exclamation marks in my writing. Shows like "Intervention" aren't as fun to watch anymore. When I turned thirty, I shocked myself by getting into Steely Dan, a band I refused for my first 29 years. Now that forty is on the horizon, I'm pretty scared that fucking Jimmy Buffet or someone is going to work their way into my mp3 player.

i had a friend (female) who housecleaned nude for some rich newport guy a couple times. she said it was easy because his house was never very dirty, she just had to dust and tidy stuff, & that it was quite profitable
