he should do a hi-top fade.

Yerac, Thursday, 24 May 2007 15:44 (eighteen years ago)

It's more of a natural at this point, isn't it?

Laurel, Thursday, 24 May 2007 15:50 (eighteen years ago)

Right but it must GROW

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Thursday, 24 May 2007 15:51 (eighteen years ago)

DICKON:
When a thing is wick, it has a life about it.
Now, maybe not a life like you and me.
But somewhere there's a single streak of green inside it.
Come, and let me show you what I mean.

When a think is wick, it has a light around it.
Maybe not a light that you can see.
But hiding down below a spark's asleep inside it,
Waiting for the right time to be seen.

You clear away the dead parts,
So the tender buds can form,
Loosen up the earth and
Let the roots get warm,
Let the roots get warm.

Come a mild day, come a warm rain,
Come a snowdrop, a-comin' up!
Come a lily, come a lilac!
Come to call,
Callin' all the rest to come and see!

MARY:
When a thing is wick,
And someone cares about it,
And comes to work each day, like you and me,
Will it grow?

DICKON:
It will!

MARY:
Then have no doubt about it,
We'll have the grandest garden ever seen!!
[Spoken]
Oh, Dickon, I want it all to be wick! Would you
come and look at it with me?

DICKON:
I'll come every day, rain or shine if you want me.
All that garden needs is for us to come wake it up!

MARY:
But, Dickon, what if we save the garden, then Uncle
Archie takes it back, or Colin wants it?

DICKON:
Ay, what a miracle that would be, gettin' a poor
crippled boy out to see his mother's garden!

[Sung]
MARY and DICKON:
You give a living thing
A little chance to grow,
That's how you will know
If she is wick, she'll grow.
So grow to greet the morning,
Leave the ground below.
When a thing is wick
It has a will to grow and grow.

MARY:
Come a mild day, come a warm rain,
Come a snowdrop, a-comin' up!
Come a lily, come a lilac!
Come to call, calling all the rest to come!

MARY and DICKON:
Calling all the rest to come!
Calling all the world to come!

DICKON:
Oh, somewhere there's single streak of green below,

MARY and DICKON:
And all through the darkest nighttime,
It's waiting for the right time.
When a thing is wick, it will grow!

jhøshea, Thursday, 24 May 2007 16:33 (eighteen years ago)

reasons why kid&play shirt is A-OK:

great color, high quality tall blank
good graphic silhouettes, nice texture w/ the hatching
nice color combo, well executed
oversized printing is tough & this looks great

IT'S NOT ABOUT THE KID & PLAY, u literalist

elmo argonaut, Thursday, 24 May 2007 16:37 (eighteen years ago)

WHERE IS MY BAN HAMMER

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Thursday, 24 May 2007 16:38 (eighteen years ago)

Also the kid & play movies get better and better with each iteration

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Thursday, 24 May 2007 16:38 (eighteen years ago)

i see where yr coming from although i dont particularly like the design. but see, kid n play are complete fucking tools. they're not even ironically amusing. and that tshirt has kid n play on it - trees/forest etc.

nothing personal elmo, i dont know you or yr tshirty ways. but around here shit is totally out of control. like why all the references - check this ghostface lyric dude or like moz and mexico get it. so gross taking something fun and making into tedious compulsive materialism.

it actually does kinda bum me out all these 30 y/o dudes w/50 clever $50 dollars tshirts and tons $100 sneakers but not a suit to their names. it's degraded and neurotic.

that is my overwrought nyc tshirt screed!

although i did see this one the other day w/the jordan jumpman dunking into a dreamcatcher that was pretty brilliant.

jhøshea, Thursday, 24 May 2007 17:09 (eighteen years ago)

jhshea is still mad will smith didin't win the oscar.

Yerac, Thursday, 24 May 2007 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

jhøshea, Thursday, 24 May 2007 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

FYI I do not own any tshirts that cost more than $25

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Thursday, 24 May 2007 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

eh nothing against anyone here you are all actually lovely crazy creative strange people.

jhøshea, Thursday, 24 May 2007 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

i have a tshirt worth over 25 bucks, but its longsleeved and striped...and it was only 75 cents. recently i actually left the house in a tshirt and was not recognized by freinds.

BUT THE IMPT THING HERE, is that we have stopped talking about vic's "flat top" (which now strikes me as some cheap attempt by some clever product developer to market shirts to "flatchested" girls)

bb, Thursday, 24 May 2007 17:29 (eighteen years ago)

jhosh, I can totally dig on your point about vapid cultural references on t-shirts, and I happen to agree that t-shirts are way too rapidly consumed and discarded -- which has a lot to do with global trade & textile industry etc etc. On the other hand, I also hold the (perhaps naive) notion that garment quality and good design / style (that does not get out-moded so fast) have a lot do with making the t-shirt industry "sustainable" as well.

elmo argonaut, Thursday, 24 May 2007 18:04 (eighteen years ago)

95% of the t-shirts I sell for work are >> $25

;_;

elmo argonaut, Thursday, 24 May 2007 18:05 (eighteen years ago)

so does vic really have a flat top?

Yerac, Thursday, 24 May 2007 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

not that this kid n'play talk isn't fucking riveting.

Yerac, Thursday, 24 May 2007 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

regardless, I am v v curious to see how vic's flat top will look

hi it is ok to like the secret garden because the music is way better than most of that musical shit and is often sung by classical singers (martha is really the only beltyish role and that is not even belty so much as v. v. low). i am not trying to be snobby re: the singers, i am just saying, it has more of a bel canto feel than most musical theater, which i think is what makes it so awesome. also the music is pretty and i will always always be a sucker for that story.

but anyway, i wonder if vic's curl might be a little loose for the flat top? we shall see!!!

tehresa, Thursday, 24 May 2007 23:43 (eighteen years ago)
