once I told a guy I was in a band named frown. he loved the name. the next thing I knew he had changed the name of his band to grimace.

Are you serious about the ceast and desist order? "grimace" is just another word, though; how could McDonald's legitimately threaten legal action unless the band were using Grimace or milkshake imagery on their records or something?

mcdonald's can threaten anybody they want with legal action, legitimate is for the courts to decide. for all I know the band was wearing grimace suits onstage.
