sonic's rendevous band-city slang

is it all that good?

depends on yr definition of "it" if you mean "is the rest of srb's repertoire as good as city slang?" I'd say damn near

if you mean "is city slang all that?" tho I'm fred's biggest fan I realize ppl w/good taste may hear SRB as lugubrious dinosaur rock

scott im looking fwd to yr stoner jam lists

max, Monday, 25 June 2007 01:46 (eighteen years ago)

the top 20 list is a poll of various decibel people who would give a shit about such things. the top 50 list is all me though. (semi)forgotten gems and the like. nothing most geeks haven't heard probably. i wanted most of it to be stuff that people could actually buy. though as el sabor noted, you can get most anything via the interweb these days.

scott seward, Monday, 25 June 2007 01:59 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, i will totally buy decibel for that scott. DUST better have made the list, or else we can't be friends anymore. obvious one, i know.

ian, Sunday, 1 July 2007 03:57 (eighteen years ago)

song cycle - are you giving in to this?

jaxon, Sunday, 1 July 2007 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

it's a shame that "MC Osso" google search returns 95% sites trying to sell me an album by National Boulevard, with a song "Blues For MC Osso." He died in 98 I guess. It's a really good record. Really stark and nicely recorded, everything is crisp but kind of cold.

ian, Sunday, 1 July 2007 04:09 (eighteen years ago)

xp--yes, but i still don't like pet sounds.

ian, Sunday, 1 July 2007 04:09 (eighteen years ago)

song cycle is a record i kind of felt obligated to buy, since you don't see it around too much and it's a nice copy. i like the instrumentals more than the vocal tracks maybe.... i would like to hear the mono mix.
