looking for somebody to move in Oct 1st
we live in Greenpoint near Daddy's / the Graham Ave stop
I live with my gf downstairs, and 1 person (a dude) lives upstairs in the 2 small bedrooms
the big bedroom is available
lots of light, spacious, but no closet
BUT, we have a driveway, so if you have a car, this is ideal
we also have a little garden that is growing out of control, if you're into gardening
both floors have bathrooms and kitchens, so you would only have to split those with 1 person
tolerance of noise / psych rock / disco probably good
$625 a month + utilities (gas, electric)
(the total is $2500)
already hooked up for internet if you have WIFI (the router is downstairs)
we need somebody who can pay 1st and last month's rent, can pay rent on time, and is capable of taking out their own trash and serparating recyclables
no cats or dogs
non-smoker preferred, but it may be possible to sort out a compromise

Russ (Russ), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 21:27 (twenty-one years ago)

sigh!

kendall smith (ddb), Thursday, 9 September 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

russ i just sent a friend your way. hope you don't mind. he's a sweetheart.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 9 September 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
My cousin just sent me this:

$800 a month for sublet in Greenpoint, Brooklyn - May 1st through July 3rd.

Fully furnished room in a sunny, large 2BR Greenpoint Apartment. This Building is on Kent St. between Manhattan and Franklin Aves. This is the most beautiful street in Greenpoint. Steps away from subway (G-Train). On the B-61 bus route that will take you to the L-Train in 5 minutes.

Building is one year old, brand new ammenities. Apartment is on the 3rd floor and recieves lots of light. Bedroom face rear courtyard, extreemly quiet and comfortable. Washer and dryer in the basement. Elevator in building.

If anyone's interested, I can pass the word along.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:29 (nineteen years ago)

i know that building.

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:35 (nineteen years ago)

he said ominously

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:37 (nineteen years ago)

$800 sounds like a lot for a bedroom in a shared apartment. in greenpoint.

chillaxing damsel on box art (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:40 (nineteen years ago)

You should stalk him, cutty. He works at EN Japanese Brasserie in the West Village.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:43 (nineteen years ago)

i need somewhere to live may 1st, but $800 is way too rich for my blood.

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:44 (nineteen years ago)

that's average rent, man.

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:45 (nineteen years ago)

not in [CON MOD EDIT]. $800 should get a palatial one BR in a decent neighborhood.

gbx (skowly), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:46 (nineteen years ago)

if laura moves out, I'll be subletting at $750 (also reconfiguring apartment)

Houdini Gordonii (ex machina), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:49 (nineteen years ago)

Are you kdding?? You people. I think you could live ALONE in my nabe for $800. But you could not scope girls on Graham Ave, that is true.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

"You people" always sets me off because I always hear people using it to refer to other ethnic groups.

Maybe that was just on Chapelle Show!

Houdini Gordonii (ex machina), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:55 (nineteen years ago)

YOU PEOPLE.

cutty (mcutt), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:56 (nineteen years ago)

IS NOISE DUDE AN ETHNIC GROUP?

Washable School Paste (sexyDancer), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:57 (nineteen years ago)

Over heah, still don't understand roomies or living somewhere for 2 months.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:58 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry, J. In this case it is referring to people either better compensated for their work or simply less cheap than I.

Laurel (Laurel), Tuesday, 28 March 2006 17:58 (nineteen years ago)

lol

HI DERE

Houdini Gordonii (ex machina), Friday, 31 March 2006 03:13 (nineteen years ago)

how much is your rent?

tehresa (tehresa), Friday, 31 March 2006 03:43 (nineteen years ago)

$750 (i'm reconfiguring the apartment so it will be less awful once Laura moves out -- more privacy, less tv room)

Houdini Gordonii (ex machina), Friday, 31 March 2006 03:48 (nineteen years ago)

that's around what i'm going to be paying for my studio in l.a. (if the housing i want comes through)

chillaxing damsel on box art (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 31 March 2006 03:54 (nineteen years ago)

killy, I work a stone's throw from FIT, but I don't think you can sleep in my cubicle.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 31 March 2006 13:55 (nineteen years ago)

i almost moved into a place across the street from fit a few years ago. rent was $800/mo for a large room in a massive converted loft. since it's kind of a non-residential area there is the occasional bargain to be had, but it's rare.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 31 March 2006 14:05 (nineteen years ago)

i like new york and would like to live there.

gbx, an apologetic chicagoan is still a chicagoan.
