I watched some clips of this guy on youtube. The problem is that the way the show is done makes him come off sounding prissy, even though there's nothing actually prissy about freaking out a little in hypothermia-inducing water. Something about the fact that he has to keep talking and explaining while he's in these supposed survival situations makes it hard to take seriously.

Man vs. Wild: Copper Canyon was awesome. If the Grand Canyon is one of the Wonders of the World, why no love for the Mexican equivalent?

Because the Grand Canyon exposes Precambrian rock layers and therefore isn't matched in natural history significance. And because its vistas are unmatched by even much larger canyons. And because of the pretty colors - if we thought Copper Canyon was comparable in appearance, we'd similarly big up Waimea Canyon. Besides, obviously, the Grand's one of 'ours', and part of 'our' Western Discovery heritage. And we can drive right up to its edge comfortably in our RVs. Anyway, Copper Canyon might be new to some Discovery Channel watchers, but there's hardly 'no love' for it.

I tried this show once. It was unwatchable.
