patch on left wrist, above and below watch; left side of forehead (moderate)

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 July 2007 17:49 (eighteen years ago)

left arm driving burn slowly giving way to tan

head = looks like wax apple

strongohulkington, Monday, 9 July 2007 17:51 (eighteen years ago)

what do they not sell sunscreen in NYC?

jessie monster, Monday, 9 July 2007 17:55 (eighteen years ago)

i have never been sunburned.

chaki, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:02 (eighteen years ago)

no burns for me

sleep, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:03 (eighteen years ago)

i got just slightly burned on saturday at the beach, just enough to get all pink but not quite bad enough for the prickly-heat burn pain. ideal.

elmo argonaut, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

I've been training my body to accept sun by using spf 8

sexyDancer, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:08 (eighteen years ago)

One always misses spots. I blocked my ears and neck flawlessly.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

my ankle's gonna peel but it's mainly from going to the beach last weekend

bore-line only slightly compounded it

dmr, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:13 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't burn at all. I will have PJMcG tell me what sort of sauce I put on.

I am pretty good at missing spots. I am still peeling from a burn I got between my armpit and my chest two weeks ago.

jessie monster, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:21 (eighteen years ago)

no burns for me, thanks to Big Vic's bottle of SPF 50

forksclovetofu, Monday, 9 July 2007 18:44 (eighteen years ago)

i'm really tan, by my standards, but i owe it to the beach.

lauren, Monday, 9 July 2007 20:26 (eighteen years ago)

i only have extra freckles, i don't tan :(

bell_labs, Monday, 9 July 2007 20:36 (eighteen years ago)

Went crazy with the spf 48, but still managed to get a bit toasted on my right forearm.

(I am vealwurst boy for whom anything less than 30 is laughably insufficient).

If we still had admin edit, how quickly would this have been changed to "sideburns"?

John Justen, Monday, 9 July 2007 21:33 (eighteen years ago)

the wife is a nice brown filipino girl. loves the shit out of the sun. but if she uses anything but an expensive sunblock, she gets a gnarly rash all over her body. allergic to sun :(

jaxon, Monday, 9 July 2007 21:38 (eighteen years ago)

sideburns form like ammonite's swirl. basically this repetition.

dmr, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 00:27 (eighteen years ago)

haha oops that's a moustache. why did that come up on gis for longest sideburns.

dmr, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 00:28 (eighteen years ago)

guys i am so uncomfortable right now. the burn is sooo itchy and i checked and it's not even in peeling territory yet. i am crawling out of my skin. i can't really complain though, i knew i was gonna burn and at least my burn was not fruitless.

tehresa, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 00:29 (eighteen years ago)

nothing as bad as a fruitless burn.

forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

sunburn is now keeping me awake. grrrr!!!

ok i try again.

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:23 (eighteen years ago)

he turned that one right around on you

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:25 (eighteen years ago)

as far as i'm concerned my nose sunburn is 100% not fruitless considering that i got to see dr. morbius shout "hang mayor bloomberg" and sing loudly in french after he realized he wasn't getting in :D

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:33 (eighteen years ago)

omg i should have stuck around for that

bell_labs, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:34 (eighteen years ago)

French? was it La Marseillaise?

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:41 (eighteen years ago)

Oh yeah, shit, the Internationale got dragged out for that one.

Laurel, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:42 (eighteen years ago)

Or something? Rise up, something something of oppression, etc.

Laurel, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:43 (eighteen years ago)

haha, that's The Internationale. I don't know it in French.

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:44 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i imagined you sang it in french :\

strongohulkington, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 19:42 (eighteen years ago)

s1ocki, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 19:55 (eighteen years ago)

strongohulkington, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 19:58 (eighteen years ago)

best thing ever, pretty much

coalition to me (acoleuthic), Tuesday, 11 May 2010 23:13 (fifteen years ago)

yeah that was pretty sick. esp 20 min version of acid police

train wreck (r1o natsume), Wednesday, 12 May 2010 00:05 (fifteen years ago)

20 minute version of Acid Police which kept going away...THEN COMING BACK like Return Of The King except more awesome each time

but my favourite bit was the half-hour or so preceding it. from the moment Eye got his staves out to the end of that euphoric bit where he bashed the six thingies on the right in turn. in between was probably the most thunderous music I've ever heard in a live setting. initially just fucking flat-out fury, then they hit this incredible, incredible rock groove about halfway through the show. sustained genius.

coalition to me (acoleuthic), Wednesday, 12 May 2010 00:13 (fifteen years ago)

btw I was the idiot who yelled for Super Coming as they waited to start the encore XD

coalition to me (acoleuthic), Wednesday, 12 May 2010 06:29 (fifteen years ago)

ugh yelling at shows

nevertheless: yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Feeling weird and melancholy about this being 14 years ago. Such a beautiful & transcendent experience. Me and my buddy took the ferry to Manhattan from NJ, then the subway to Brooklyn. We wouldn't have gotten in if not for a blue-haired punk girl who we ran into along the way who invited us to join the line with her friends. We were too shy to really hit it off with them, but grateful nonetheless. I vividly remember watching the sun go down behind the Brooklyn Bridge and seeing the silhouettes of ppl who'd gathered up there to watch from above.
