the smithereens album isn't really "bad", just pointless.

scott seward, Monday, 16 July 2007 13:57 (eighteen years ago)

these guys are coming to the island! 20 bucks though. i might pass. they use all original gear/instruments/amps. oh yeah they do.

whoa is that beatle barkers album like those barking jingle bell dogs?

latebloomer, Monday, 16 July 2007 14:17 (eighteen years ago)

"words fail me"

well he WAS in a pretty good beatlesy punk band once. okay, that's as far as i go to defend billy idol. (though of course i still love white wedding when it comes on the radio)

scott seward, Monday, 16 July 2007 14:26 (eighteen years ago)

i like his vh1 behind the music. his complete inability to learn from his mistakes is almost endearing.

latebloomer, Monday, 16 July 2007 14:30 (eighteen years ago)

yeah almostendearing.

i like a lot of billy idol's singles, "dancing with myself" the best. but did he became a camp figure over the years or what. he's like a new wave liberace or wayne newton. the idea of him doing TNK pumping his fist in the air is hilarious. he should do an album of "standards"

m coleman, Monday, 16 July 2007 15:10 (eighteen years ago)

Eyes Without A Face remains an A+ single

sexyDancer, Monday, 16 July 2007 15:18 (eighteen years ago)

the westerberg "nowhere man" is pretty ok

ghost rider, Monday, 16 July 2007 15:24 (eighteen years ago)

dexter (avalanches' DJ) picked the beatle barkers' version of 'a hard day's night' as one of his top five "rooting songs" on local radio, once.

Kinda on the subject, I saw the video for Paul McCartney's new one "Everybody Gonna Dance Tonight" on the tube last night and for some reason the sight of Paul singing a sprighly ditty at home alone with a delivery guy and a package full of dancing ghosts seemed like the saddest thing in the world. I turned around and my wife was full of tears.
Death's a rip-off.

sexyDancer, Monday, 16 July 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

you forgot the part about natalie portman being in the video. ugh

jaxon, Monday, 16 July 2007 22:27 (eighteen years ago)
