― strongohulkington, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)
Me too. Also WTF is that thing in the photo? Can it make a musical sound other than the death moans of the enemy you just impaled on it?
― Jon Lewis, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 15:52 (eighteen years ago)
It is a lagerphone and whacker. Basically a stick with bottle caps nailed to it that you whack rhythmically. They make a pretty good noise really but is surely the product of an all night drinking session in the way a banjo probably isn't.
― Ed, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 15:55 (eighteen years ago)
is banjo really american? thought it was based on african instruments?
― jaxon, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 19:13 (eighteen years ago)
i guess "based" is my answer
only australians would invent an instrument called the lagerphone
― sanskrit, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)
i would like one lagerphone pls.
― tehresa, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 19:23 (eighteen years ago)
We used to make lagerphones in primary school. I am not sure what message that sends aussie kids but maybe is kind of awesome y/n

TELL ME ITS TRUE
― ralph, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 07:00 (eighteen years ago)
my dad is a banjo champ. played hippy bluegrass all through the 60s and 70s. now he supplements his income by buying and selling really expensive acoustic guitars, mandolins, dobros and such. he sold chris hillman a 24,000$ mandolin
― jaxon, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 07:10 (eighteen years ago)
For $48,000, I hope.

Buying and selling guitars would be a great way to live!
