Trip Maker, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 13:18 (eighteen years ago)

jessie monster, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 13:18 (eighteen years ago)

i asked my boston accented mother-in-law to repeat herself after she once said "aardvark", hearing that was amazing.

sanskrit, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 14:52 (eighteen years ago)

I was watching "CELEBRITY JEOPARDY" yesterday, and Nancy Grace was one of the contestants. One of the "questions" (answers) was "flamenco," and she rang in and answered "flamingo." Then when Alex wouldn't give it to her, she insisted she had said flamenco, but just has an accent.

n/a, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 14:54 (eighteen years ago)

Lol I saw that. I think she said Flamingo.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 14:55 (eighteen years ago)

if nancy grace has an accent, it's from ancient greece cuz bitch is a stone-cold harpy.

elmo argonaut, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 15:01 (eighteen years ago)

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 15:02 (eighteen years ago)

<thread derail>
Jeopardy Teen Tournament is so much better than Celebrity Jeopardy.
Fuckers can't even get through all the categories! And why does the audience clap every damn time?

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 15:21 (eighteen years ago)

i just have a lot of raising intonation at the end of my sentences but am working on losing it

rrrobyn, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 15:32 (eighteen years ago)

Jeopardy kind of blows in general these days, but I can't watch any of the special tournaments.

n/a, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 15:46 (eighteen years ago)

she most definitely said flamingo!!! she is one shifty bitch.

i mess up my r's but mostly only when they come at the end of a word as an '-er'. it comes out '-el'. prime example: i have been known to say i have a coupon that is buy one get one free of equal or lessel value. i think sleep has witnessed my r messups several times.

elmo argonaut, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 16:14 (eighteen years ago)

It's a round letter between "N" and "P", with fire shooting out of it.

Jon Lewis, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

i mumble?

latebloomer, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 16:25 (eighteen years ago)

my irish friend can't pronounce TH. he often says, "on Tursday, i'll give you Tirty Tree and Tirty Tree Tirds".

jaxon, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

my philippino friend sometimes does not pronounce the hard 'th' in my name correctly and i become 'the-resa' :(

hmmm ireland and philippines have opposite speech problem?

tehresa, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

they don't have an F in their language either, so it's actually pronounce Pilipino

jaxon, Tuesday, 31 July 2007 18:36 (eighteen years ago)

That's just bollocks, sorry.

kv_nol, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 09:31 (eighteen years ago)

i have a little stutter (much less now than before) and a lisp

bell_labs, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 13:01 (eighteen years ago)

i find speech impediments endearing, hopefully others do the same.

my best professor in college was a tiny bald romanian man for "early christian gnosticism" with such a stutter that half of the kids dropped on the first day. those assholes missed out!

bell_labs, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 13:11 (eighteen years ago)

the best part of my wedding was when we had 2 of mrs jaxon's cousins read bible passages (she's catholic). the girl goes up and reads fine, but then walks off the stage and trips on her dress and almost goes headfirst into a shit ton of candles, but saves herself last minute. then her brother goes up and his stutter, that he'd gotten rid of 20 years ago came back in full force. totally epic.
