Go to Yamato if you're in Park Slope, duh. Blue Ribbon is good for burgers.

i am a sushi purist, meaning i don't eat at places that don't have a revolving sushi boat bar
― moonship journey to baja, Monday, 24 September 2007 06:13 (eighteen years ago)
btw: does sushi boat refer to sushi served in a wooden boat or sushi that travels around the restaurant in a wooden boat?
Does not compute.

Geido and Gen are my faves
I didn't like Taro that much. but it was a 100-degree day and the place was seemingly not airconditioned. very uncomfortable.

I like places where the sushi comes to you on a choo-choo train or conveyor belt.
― Jon Lewis, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)
I should add I can't eat sushi that contains raw fish bcuz of having no spleen. So things like conveyor belts are the only attraction for me, I'm ordering the noodles anyway.
― Jon Lewis, Monday, 24 September 2007 15:52 (eighteen years ago)
where do they have a choo choo train?
― Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 24 September 2007 16:18 (eighteen years ago)
Am I imagining that? I did go to a conveyor belt one in toronto. And there was a bar in seattle where your burger came out on a choo-choo.

finagle a bagel in boston has this amazing conveyor belt system where your bagel rides along at regular speed until it hits the circular saw what cuts it in half and sends it zooming down the line into the hands of the cream cheese girl zoooooooom !!!!

I like that place quite a bit.
I also like the place on Sepulveda called either Sushi Ya or Sushi Otam right near the 405/Venice Blvd exit. It is nondescript, and next to the lobby of a Motel 6.
The Japanese BBQ place on La Cienega just south of Melrose near The Stinking Rose is really good too, and they have a beautiful fireplace in the dining room.
