my copy of biokinetics has a crack in the center. fucking metal case things. better be repressed sometime.
also i like hong kong better than anything monolake did after that.
― GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Monday, 8 October 2007 02:20 (seventeen years ago)
i heard that henke is buying the rights for hong kong from CR and he's going to remaster + repress it himself later this year
my copy was cracked but it pretty much played fine. i keep them in the metal tins but not on the circle so i have no idea how it got cracked ... i'm still trying to figure it out ... anyway i'm not taking chances, i put them back in the boxes but w/ plastic sleeves on them to protect them ...
― moonship journey to baja, Monday, 8 October 2007 02:44 (seventeen years ago)
i mean, it *was* cracked in the middle and pretty much played fine, now it's totally cracked into two pieces and doesn't play at all ...
― moonship journey to baja, Monday, 8 October 2007 02:46 (seventeen years ago)
it's not even an it anymore, i should call it a "they", they are two things now living in one metal box, 1/3 of a monolake CD and 2/3 of a monolake CD ... adds up to less than 1 monolake CD, get it?

― sexyDancer, Monday, 8 October 2007 22:08 (seventeen years ago)
rather death than case logic.

― GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 01:52 (seventeen years ago)
most of those cds are just 12" comps with an unreleased track here and there
― am0n, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 02:41 (seventeen years ago)
yeah, i know, i just don't remember ever seeing the monolake tracks on vinyl. but discogs tell me they were so i'll shut up now.

― Laurel, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 14:23 (seventeen years ago)

I used to think like that mr. gott punches but then I moved house like 3 times in as many years and realized that jewel cases were asinine
― El Tomboto, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:04 (seventeen years ago)
OTM. When I moved from Atlanta to NYC I bought like 6 of the biggest CD binders I could find. I kept all the booklets which are in a box I never take out.
― Jon Lewis, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:06 (seventeen years ago)
i bought a metal CD binder and it cracked my entire collection
:(
― moonship journey to baja, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:10 (seventeen years ago)
was the metal cd binder designed by DVD Jon
― El Tomboto, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:13 (seventeen years ago)
That gives me chills. Tell me yr kidding!
― Jon Lewis, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:14 (seventeen years ago)
i still need to find some sort of cd binder that can fit promo Cds. you know, the ones in cardboard sleeves. i don't want to just put the cd in something. too many inscrutable metal CDs without the cover.
― scott seward, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:18 (seventeen years ago)
no, i'm just kidding. i take all of my CDs out of the jewel case and put the CD and inserts in plastic LP-style sleeves. i keep those in little wooden IKEA drawers that are stacked in my room. i have around 2000 CDs in a 1 ft x 3 ft x 4 ft space. the ones that come in digipaks and other fancy packaging (like metal boxes) go in my bookcase.
― moonship journey to baja, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:22 (seventeen years ago)
however i'm abandoning this system in favor of sculptural storage

or i was thinking of driving a spear into my floor and stacking the CDs on the spear the way you can stack doughnuts on your finger
― moonship journey to baja, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:24 (seventeen years ago)
that is basically what at least one big chunk of any apartment or barracks room I lived in would look like for a good five years of my life
― El Tomboto, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:24 (seventeen years ago)
xpost
― El Tomboto, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:25 (seventeen years ago)
at one point I had them organized by the color of the spine
― El Tomboto, Tuesday, 9 October 2007 19:26 (seventeen years ago)
it would have been so much better w/o the xpost

that, definitely. i've been looking for some old 5 1/4" diskette caddies for those, can't find 'em anywhere. maybe garage sales or something. i keep all of my 3" cds in a 3 1/2" thing i got at staples.
