It's Raining Today was my introduction and still a favorite. The Amorous Humprhey Plugg, The Girls From the Streets and Plastic Palace People are probably the songs I listen to the most, but Little Things That Keep Us Together gets my vote, it's just so fucking insane. Some of the most intense and exciting music ever with these goddamn lyrics...

It's on days like these
When your brother falls
You can read it all in the Times
How a moving car
Stole a movie star
Little Things that keep us together
While the war's going on
It's on days like these
When your childhood cries
And you see it all on the news
Little children starve
Growing tired of born
Little things that keep us all close and warm
While the war's going on
Find a place you can hide
And take what you can
The time will arrive
When you need a friend
Stop looking at us
We're waving good-bye
There's a man
Shouting he's with me
When that morning comes
I can't wait to see
Just how high his eagle
On color screens
Is gonna fly
Going to fly
It's on nights like these
That your neighbor dies
'Cos he put a gun to his head
He was so alone
He had nothing left
Little things that call for a drink
That bury a soldier's death
It's on days like these
When your sister cries
And your brother falls from your hands
Jumbo jets can die
Killing 81
Little things that help us get by the why
Why the war's going on
Why the war's going on
Why the war is going on
why the war is going on
why the war's going on
why the war's going on

This is where I say that the only Walker song I like is "Sun ain't gonna shine anymore." Scott brings me down.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 30 October 2007 13:31 (seventeen years ago)

"Rhymes of Goodbye" blew my mind out in the car on Sunday, so I vote for that.

Noodle Vague, Tuesday, 30 October 2007 14:51 (seventeen years ago)

great big fucking louise

Dominique, Tuesday, 30 October 2007 15:26 (seventeen years ago)

You're insane for thinking this vote is possible. I would at least need to be able to vote for one track from Scott mk I (crooner) and one from Scott mk II (doomer).

Attempting to split the difference, I'll vote for "Track Six" off Climate Of Hunter. When that Ligeti gnat-cloud of a million saxes comes down, I always feel like my heart's gonna explode.

Jon Lewis, Tuesday, 30 October 2007 15:43 (seventeen years ago)
