There are two different stances on violence in hardcore. Certain people will say to stand up for yourself and your crew by fighting. This has become synonymous with a crew known as the FSU (Friends Stand United) and is documented in the Boston Beatdown DVDs. The people who share this view usually listen to tougher bands such as Death Before Dishonor, Terror, and Righteous Jams.

Support local hardcore bands by going to shows and appreciating the difficulty that goes into maintaining a hardcore band. No matter how many death/black metal kids dump on it, they're just cowards that hide behind ugly music in order to feel like they're dark and wicked, even though in real life they're pissed-off dorks with no nerve.
