Dear 5th Flr. Staff,
It saddens me that I have to write to you about things disappearing in the kitchen. It seems as if about 10 or so boxes of Parmalat have just disappeared along with a decent amount of coffee. After Scott and I cleaned out the fridge for the continued use of the floor, we went through the Parmalat to make sure they did not expire. After throwing out a few boxes, there were more than 15 boxes left, and there were about 10 boxes 2 weeks ago. As of today, the number is 0.
The reason all the cabinets were unlocked is because I felt as if we were all adults in our 5th Flr. community and capable of making sound decisions. The theft of coffee and the milk on our floor has led me to lock some of the cabinets up. You will find sufficient supplies of coffee, tea, plates, utenslis, etc... in the unlocked cabinets.
Please remember that the supplies in the kitchen are for everyone's use.
Thank you.

If you haven't heard by now, we now know what happened to the Parmalat. It seems as if some of the parmalat boxes were sitting there past their due date and someone threw those boxes out.
I apologize if the e-mail seemed accusatory. When I wrote it I couldn't believe that someone on the floor would steal supplies, and thankfully that was not the case.
As far as the coffee drinkers are concerned, we can all thank Zak for saving your stomachs by disposing of the old Parmalat.

Subject: A Gentle Reminder - The NYU Combined Campaign
Dear AMC Constituent: While each of you have already received an email about the NYU Combined Campaign from within your school or division, I wanted to reach out to you to encourage you to support one of the most important traditions of community service here at the university. In 1982, administrators, faculty and staff came together to found the NYU Community Fund as a way to assist charitable organizations serving the communities surrounding NYU campuses. As part of the 25th Year celebration, I would like to invite you to visit www.nyu.edu/community.fund to make a pledge or one-time gift to the NYU Community Fund or United Way of NYC. At the website, you can also watch the 25th Anniversary video that features some of the many organizations we support and the impressive range of their endeavors encouraging at-risk young people to stay in school; providing services for the elderly; feeding the hungry; supporting projects for persons with HIV/AIDS, cancer, heart disease and other health problems; and sustaining literacy, tutorial and ESL programs. Whether it’s a donation to the NYU Community Fund or the United Way of NYC, the AMC has always been a strong supporter of the Combined Campaign. I hope we can count on your support as we begin another 25 years of doing great things! Sincerely, Larry Pender Chair - Administrative Management Council P.S. Remember, every cent of your contribution to the NYU Community Fund goes directly to charity! So pledge your support or make a one-time gift today!
