I understand sesame seeds but I think I just hate seeds. This stems from my dad eating in his car all the time. Kinda gross to have a LAYER of seeds on the floor

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:29 (seventeen years ago)

seeds are gross on bagels. salt is the best bagel

Mr. Que, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:30 (seventeen years ago)

if they didn't have seeds, they wouldn't have everything

n/a, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:30 (seventeen years ago)

they are a symbol of new life

ian, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:31 (seventeen years ago)

Anyone ever actually fail a drug test for poppy seeds?

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:31 (seventeen years ago)

Do they make sourdough bagels with salt? I'd like that

Noise Board Moderator, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:44 (seventeen years ago)

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:54 (seventeen years ago)

carne asada, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:54 (seventeen years ago)

chaki, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:58 (seventeen years ago)

carne asada, Monday, 7 January 2008 17:59 (seventeen years ago)

sesame and poppy seeds are the best bagel toppings

Jordan, Monday, 7 January 2008 18:21 (seventeen years ago)

garlic also wins

salt is salty, so what

kenan, Monday, 7 January 2008 18:23 (seventeen years ago)

I think JBR needs to resolve this as a bicoastal hebrew

NO EVERYTHING BAGELS IN CANADA??? CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

ian, Monday, 7 January 2008 18:36 (seventeen years ago)

why did i not get bagel for lunch ;_;

bell_labs, Monday, 7 January 2008 18:40 (seventeen years ago)

salt bagel is a sign of completely-dopey-unsophisticated-salt-addiction a la nabisco or enrique

kenan, Monday, 7 January 2008 18:42 (seventeen years ago)

Kenan, I am on a high sodium diet due to a biological condition.

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:01 (seventeen years ago)

i remember visiting a college that had cafeteria bagels that tasted like wonder bread. total deal breaker, didn't even apply.

sanskrit, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:08 (seventeen years ago)

there should be sour cream and onion bagels

rrrobyn, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:09 (seventeen years ago)

i remember visiting a college that was in connecticut. deal breaker.

bell_labs, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)

there are sour cream and onion bagel chips.

chaki, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:11 (seventeen years ago)

salt, sesame, poppy, garlic, onion A++++++++++

the thicker the coast the better. top AND bottom if possible.

everything but fennel seed.

gr8080, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:11 (seventeen years ago)

Ketchup bagels

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:12 (seventeen years ago)

rrrobyn, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:19 (seventeen years ago)

Asiago cheese bagels

Laurel, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:22 (seventeen years ago)

onion
garlic
poppy seeds
sesame seeds
SALT yes jon you rite
that is all

LOL apricot jam everything! so good.

69, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:33 (seventeen years ago)

don't they have asiago cheese bagels at panera? someone gave my mother a gift bagel assortment from there a while back and there were, like, apple streusel bagels and parmesan crisp bagels and such.

lauren, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:49 (seventeen years ago)

they have asiago cheese bagels at au bon pain

bell_labs, Monday, 7 January 2008 19:52 (seventeen years ago)

asiago cheese bagels are basically inescapable these days

Jordan, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:03 (seventeen years ago)

That's okay because they're DELICIOUS. Not quite as good as the Cheddar and Herb bagels from that place in Muskegon, but close.

Laurel, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:04 (seventeen years ago)

The problem is that the baked goods at like Starbucks and (I'm guessing) Au Bon Pain usually suck, at least the bagels. Bready, bland, stale...

Laurel, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:05 (seventeen years ago)

i cannot abide the asiago cheese bagel

69, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:10 (seventeen years ago)

ive actually never met a dude who loves one or a chick who doesnt ¯\(°_0)/¯

69, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:11 (seventeen years ago)

Cheddar and Herb bagels from that place in Muskegon

you are such a shiksa!

lauren, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:12 (seventeen years ago)

All I know is that a cheddar & herb bagel toasted with butter and a cup of milky tea is like heaven. Also: involves at least three dairy products.

xp ha!

Laurel, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:13 (seventeen years ago)

All the dudes at my workplace love the asiago bagels, at least the Panera ones that are occasionally sitting around at work.

Is the Panera franchise that widespread? It's one of those yuppie deli-like chains that bakes their bread stuff in-house. I think it's the expansion of St. Louis Bread Company or somesuch.

mh, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:15 (seventeen years ago)

Oh c'mon, Lauren, baked goods are pareve anyway, you can put tons of cheese on them!

Laurel, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:17 (seventeen years ago)

the panera franchise is everrrrywhere in the suburbs, and i think it just popped up in the last 2 or so years? but i have never seen one in nyc.

i have never had an asiago cheese bagel. the only "unconventional" bagel i enjoy is french toast from the bagel store in williamsburg.

bell_labs, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:36 (seventeen years ago)

one time i was hungover and got bacon and egg on a french toast bagel, which was not a good idea. sadly.

bell_labs, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:37 (seventeen years ago)

wtf is french toast bagel? egg bagel + cinnamon?

have you ever had a mcgriddle?

69, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:43 (seventeen years ago)

no, but that was kind of what i was going for.

bell_labs, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:44 (seventeen years ago)

panera sux, my mom loves it. she goes there with people from work to "go over proofs" aka gossip about crappy suburban life.

ian, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:55 (seventeen years ago)

this one weirdo tried to me and zack and our buddy to rent his house, and was like "and the best part is? we're only a 15-min walk to panera bread"

69, Monday, 7 January 2008 20:57 (seventeen years ago)

oh but panera is classic for how all the people ive ever known to work there call it PANTERA BREAD
